Abstract

A method of producing filaments and synthetic fibers by spinning in the number of partially hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile solutions in nitric acid, where a copolymer of acrylonitrile with acrylamide and a small portion of acrylic acid is prepared, polymerizing acrylonitrile in nitric acid of 55 to 72%, after which the polymer solution is maintained at temperatures of -10 to + 50ºC until the solution, extruded in water at room temperature, coagulates a gel that can be stretched at room temperature or elevated, to a filament that in the swollen state with water it has at least 70% permanent elongation and at most 30% elastic.
