Abstract

The installation comprises a driving bar 8 for moving and grouping the animals towards the milking zone 5 and at least one transporter device 6 adjacent and parallel to the said milking zone. The transporter device comprises a conveyor belt mounted on a support chassis and provided with means for capturing and holding the animals. The conveyor belt consists of two parallel chains mounted on driving and direction-changing pinions and successive cross-members fixed between the links of the chains. The means for capturing and holding the animals are mounted on vertical bars fixed on to the cross-members of the conveyor belt.
