  • BE-A-529209 (HELLEBAUT) describes a folding table composed of four panels hinged together and stackable whose deployment combined with that of the legs allows to obtain a table of only one dimension.

The present invention aims to obtain, from a table (as described in BE-A-529209) folding painter's upholstery and in particular of the constituent elements of the tray, another table whose width and length can be significantly increased by a single operation.

This particular design makes it possible to meet (inter alia) the need for the craftsmen painters for the installation of wallpapers or wall coverings based on fabrics whose dimensions (width and | or length) tend to increase.

This feature is obtained by means of a plate, divided into two half-plates of equal surface, each consisting of two superimposed panels and hinged together by hinges with double articulation, according to claim 1.

The lower panel (of each half tray) connected to the folding support frame in the middle, by an axis-bearing assembly, pivots 90 ° towards the two ends of said frame.

To continue the table extension operation, the upper panel of the half-tray is foldable towards the center of the support frame, released following the rotation of the lower panel.

This simple maneuver of rotation and folding down of the two half-plates, constituting the whole of the plate, makes it possible to simultaneously increase the width and the length of the table.

The invention is described below in more detail using drawings representing only one embodiment.

Figure 1 shows the upholstery table in the use position with its tray in the minimum dimensions.

Figure 2 shows the upholstery table in use position with its tray in its maximum dimensions.

Figure 3 shows in section the hinge pin assembly of the lower panel on its support frame.

La figure 4 représente une vue de dessus du plateau et montre la rotation des deux demi-plateaux pour obtenir une augmentation des dimensions de la table.FIG. 4 represents a top view of the table and shows the rotation of the two half-tables to obtain an increase in the dimensions of the table.

La figure 5 représente une coupe au droit de la butée limitant la rotation des panneaux inférieurs des deux demi-plateaux.FIG. 5 represents a section in line with the stop limiting the rotation of the lower panels of the two half-plates.

Figure 6 shows in longitudinal section, the upholstery table in the use position with its tray in its minimum dimensions and shows the folding of the upper panels of the two half-trays.

La figure 7 représente, en coupe, la liaison articulée entre deux panneaux du demi-plateau.FIG. 7 represents, in section, the articulated connection between two panels of the half-tray.

La figure 8 représente en coupe l'articulation entre deux panneaux des demi-plateaux en position superposée (c'est-à-dire lorsque la table est dans ses dimensions minimums).FIG. 8 represents in section the articulation between two panels of the half-trays in superimposed position (that is to say when the table is in its minimum dimensions).

Figure 9 shows the upholstery table in the position of use with its tray in its minimum dimensions and shows in phantom the folding of the feet spacing bars.

La figure 10 représente la table à tapisser en cours de pliage avec les pieds rabattus dans les demi-cadres 8.FIG. 10 represents the table to be upholstered during folding with the legs folded down in the half-frames 8.

Figure 11 shows the upholstered table in the folded position for transport.

According to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, the folding tapestry table shown has two half-trays 1 and 2 composed respectively of two panels 3 and 4. These panels 3 and 4 are hinged together by double hinge hinges 7.

The lower panels 4 can rotate 90 ° relative to the two support half-frames 8 by virtue of an axis 10, integral with the panels 4, rotating in a bearing 11 fixed on each half-frame 8.

According to Figures 4 and 5, the rotation is limited to 90 ° by means of a stop 12 coming to be housed in a light 13 made in each half-frame 8. This stop 12, thus engaged in this light, makes it possible to obtain an additional anchoring point of the panel 4 on the semicircle 8 so as to regularize the assembly.

This rotation allows, from an initial state of the table with minimum dimensions (fig. 1) to obtain a table with maximum dimensions (fig. 4).

En effet, les demi-plateaux 1 et 2 étant deverrouillés des demi-cadres 8 en libérant les fermetures 24 (fig.9), une rotation autour de l'axe 10 peut s'effectuer comme indiqué par la flèche sur la figure 4.Indeed, the half-plates 1 and 2 being unlocked from the half-frames 8 by releasing the closures 24 (FIG. 9), a rotation around the axis 10 can be carried out as indicated by the arrow in FIG. 4.

The panels 4 are placed at the end of their half-frame 8. It then suffices to fold the panels 3 along the arrow as indicated in FIG. 6. This operation being carried out with each half-tray of the table to be upholstered. then obtains a large tray whose surface has doubled, the length then being equal to four times the width of a panel 4, the width becoming equal to the length of the same panel 4.

According to FIGS. 7 and 8, the panels 3 and 4 of each half-plate are hinged together by means of hinges 7 with double articulation axis, making it possible to juxtapose or superimpose the two panels 3 and 4.

Still according to FIG. 7, the hinges 7 have the particularity of not having an external node, so as to avoid any prominence at the level of the useful surface of the table.

According to Figures 1, 6 and 9, the painter's tapestry table is composed of 2 half-trays 1 and 2 secured to two half-frames 8 hinged together by means of hinges 14. The tubular base consists of double feet 15 and 16 articulated respectively on the half-frames 8 at 17 and 26. The spacing and the rigidity of the feet 15 and 16 are ensured by bars 18 articulated at 19 on the feet 15 and coming to hook at their end 22 on the crosses 20 of the legs 16. The tension provided by these bars 18 brings the legs 15 into abutment on the two half-frames 8 to obtain great stability of the whole table.

All these arrangements, described above, allow the table to be folded down by unhooking the bars 18 from the cross member 20, from the legs 16, the bars 18 fold around their axis 21 then rotate around the articulation 19 of the legs 15, the end 22 then being hooked on the crosspiece 23 of the feet 15.

According to FIG. 6, the assembly thus formed can be folded around the axis 17 in the half-frames 8.

11.According to FIG. 10, the two half-frames fold back towards each other thanks to the articulation 14 joining the two half-frames 8 and immobilized between them by the lock 27. The half-plate assembly 1, 2 - half-frames 8 is then presented in the form of a reduced parallelepiped volume as shown in fig. 11.

The handling and gripping of this volume being favored by an orifice 25 formed in the panels 3 and 4 of the half-plates 1 and 2.

Claims (3)

  1. Adjustable size folding pasting table, for decorators, comprising a frame (8) with central folding joint mounted on a base (15) and (16) and a work surface made up of two identical half-boards (1) and (2) each comprising two panels of equal dimensions (3) and (4) jointed by means of a pair of hinges (7) so as to allow them to be superposed and juxtaposed. The design is specific in that each pair of panels (3) and (4), when in the superposed position, can pivot around an axis (10) turning on a bearing (11) following an arc of 90°, which is limited by a thrust-block (12), towards the edges of the frame (8), thus freeing up, in the central part of the said frame, the space provided to receive the two panels (3) opened out so as to create a larger table (in length and width) in a single movement, and leaving each pair of panels (3) and (4) in the superposed position before rotating them on the frame (8) produces a smaller table (in length and width).
  2. Adjustable-size folding pasting table, for decorators, as in claim 1, but specific in that the thrust-block (12), designed to limit the rotation of panels (3) and (4) in the superposed position, slots into a groove (13) in the frame (8) in such a way as to obtain the desired level of rigidity for the structure as a whole when the large table surface is used.
  3. Adjustable-size folding pasting table, for decorators, as in claim 1, but specific in that the the upper panel (3) of each of the two pairs is jointed onto the edge of the lower panel (4) by means of flush hinges (7) in order to avoid any protrusion on the work surface in the large-table position or on the edges of the said superposed panels in the small-table position.
