Abstract

A chair, in particular for public transport means, consists of a bearing frame and cushioning comprising several layers. This cushioning comprises a cover which is combustion-resistant and a support element of foamed plastic containing a fire-protective agent. Fitted between the cover 7 and the support element 13 is an intermediate layer 8 consisting of polyether foam. This is moistened using a fire-protective agent 19.
