Der fagonmäfsig ausgeschnittene Brief-Umschlag wird ungefalzt auf die seiner Gröfse entsprechende Form (Fig. 3) derart gelegt, dafs die vier Flügel desselben genau über den vier, um ihre in der Zeichnung mit . — . — . — . angedeuteten Axen drehbaren Klappen al a2 a% a3 ruhen. Alsdann drückt der Stempel b, welcher zwischen die Scharniere der vier Klappen pafst, den Umschlag auf die Platte c, wodurch dessen drei Flügel, wie die Klappen e'ä2eä sich vertical aufrichten. Der Stempel b ist an dem Hebel e befestigt, hat1 seinen Drehpunkt zwischen den Schrauben ff und erhält seine Bewegung unmittelbar durch Stift g des Hebels h, welcher aus zwei Theilen besteht, und mit Hebel e eine gemeinschaftliche Drehaxe hat. Hebel h wird an seinem unteren Ende mit Gleitrolle durch den Excenter i bewegt. Darauf geht der Stempel in seine ursprüngliche Lage zurück; zugleich vollziehen die Klappen a1 a'2 a,- die gleiche Bewegung wie zuvor a3, so dafs nunmehr alle vier Flügel des Umschlages unter den vier Klappen auf der Platte c vereinigt sind. Hierauf weichen alle vier Klappen zurück, und der Umschlag ist fertig und kann entfernt werden. Die Bewegung sämmtlicher Klappen wird bewirkt durch die OT-förmigen Hebel; diese sind mittelst Bändern über Rollen mit je einem Hebel m bezw. ηιχ verbunden und erhalten diese Hebel durch die Stifte gi g2 ihre Bewegung, wie der Hebel h vom Excenter i, so dafs also von diesem alle Mechanismen getrieben werden.After the paper has been folded in the above manner, the flap a s rotates towards the stamp b, which is still resting on the plate c , so that the one wing of the paper 3 is completely bent over and the envelope is pressed by the pressure of this flap is being held. Nun aber könnte ohne den Stempel in nachtheiliger Weise nochmals zu bewegen, das Excenter seinen Rückgang nicht vollziehen, wäre nicht der Hebel h von dem Stempelhebel e getrennt; so aber gleitet die Rolle des Hebels h zwischen der Welle und dem seitlich vorspringenden Th eil des Excenters hindurch, wodurch das obere Ende des Hebels sich von e entfernt, jedoch, sobald das Excenter seine hier gezeichnete Stellung erreicht, durch den Druck der um den Druckstift g gewundenen Feder wieder zur Auflage auf Hebel e gezwungen wird.It remains to be explained in what way the retraction takes place first of the punch and second of the eccentric.
