2.1 Technical problem:

Chipping fingernails, skin particles and dead skin when filing nails are an annoying problem when doing manicures. Nail scissors, cuticle scissors, nail clippers and files all belong in a case.

2.2 Solution to the problem

A finger is inserted through the finger neck (2) into a hollow body (1) formed by two beak-like shells (4 and 5). The shells are separated by a slot (7) approximately 1 cm wide and covered with bristles, slats or fringes, through which nail scissors or a nail file can be inserted. A magnifying glass (6) incorporated into the upper shell enables the cutting process to be observed precisely. Instead of the all-round bristle covering (8), the multi-purpose manicure beak can be equipped with two scissor holes (9) with a puncture hole on each side, closed with an elastic cover.
The multi-purpose manicure beak, designed for scissors and nail clippers, has a recess (10) at the end of the upper shell (4) that is shielded against nail parts flying away, and a retaining bracket (11) on the finger neck (2) for inserting and securing a nail clipper (12). Any clippings in the hollow body (1) can be disposed of via the finger neck. The hollow body of the multi-purpose manicure beak (1) can be used as a case. The blades and handles of one or two pairs of scissors, which are secured with the handle in a case (14), are inserted into the multi-purpose manicure beak and close it.
By means of a tongue and groove closure (15) on the finger neck (2), the multi-purpose manicure beak can be disassembled and is suitable for inclusion in a set.

Multi-purpose manicure beak

The multi-purpose manicure beak is a fingernail catcher with an integrated magnifying glass (6) and can be used in four different ways.

1. and 2. For use with nail scissors and nail file (Figure 2):

The hollow body (1) has a scissor-cutting slot (7) of approximately 1 cm width running all the way around, which is covered with a bristle covering (8), slats, fringes or other suitable material, through which a pair of nail scissors (18), cuticle scissors or nail file can be inserted in a laterally movable manner (Figure T).

Instead of a scissor cutting slot (7), the multi-purpose manicure beak (Figure 3) can be provided with one or two nail scissor insertion holes (9) on both sides, which are covered by an elastic cover with a puncture hole.

The diameter of approximately 1 cm of the nail scissors insertion holes (9) allows the nail scissors, held by an elastic cover, to be moved in all directions required for nail cutting.
The nail scissors insertion hole (9) located in front of the finger neck (2) is not only suitable for cutting the thumb nail, but also makes it easier to cut the lateral edges of the fingernails due to the free movement of the scissors in the required angled position.

3. For use with nail scissors and nail clippers (Figure 1 and 4):

The upper shell (4) has a nail clipper recess (10) at the end, through which the wedge-shaped part of a medium-sized nail clipper (12) is inserted precisely into the hollow body (1) and is secured in place by a nail clipper holder or bar (11) running horizontally along the edge of the finger hole (2). The recess (10) is covered on the side facing the finger neck (2) with a small apron consisting of bristles, slats, or a plastic strip (16) to prevent clippings from falling out. The two lateral beak edges formed by the recess (10) on the upper shell (4) run in such a way that the lateral open parts of the clipper blade are covered by them and thus no nail parts fall out. The clippings fall into the hollow body (1), which is lined with circumferential bristles (8) and the apron (16) made of bristles.

The part of the nail clipper that functions as a pinching lever remains outside the hollow body (1), whereby the leverage is significantly increased by grasping the hollow body with the hand.

The description under No. 3 also applies in principle to a nail clipper inserted through a recess in the lower part of the shell (5).

If scissor eyes are fixed in a case-like cover (14) the width of a nail scissors handle by means of grooves or slots (17), the scissor blade protruding from the container (14) together with the bars can be pushed into the hollow body (1) of the multi-purpose manicure beak, which is used as an independent case part, and closed when the cover (14) is placed on the case part (13) (Figure 5) or alternatively on the finger neck (2) reinforced with an elliptical ring, which compensates for the larger diameter of the cover (14) caused by the width of the nail scissors eyes.

By means of a tongue and groove closure (15) on the finger neck (2), the multi-purpose manicure beak can be dismantled (Figure 6) and is therefore suitable for insertion into a manicure set.

Claims (8)

Multi-purpose manicure beak as a fingernail catching device for use with nail scissors, characterized in that the upper shell ( 4 ) is either designed as a magnifying glass ( 6 ) or is equipped with a magnifying glass at least the size of a thumb. 2. Multi-purpose manicure beak according to claim 1, characterized in that the scissor cutting slot ( 7 ) covered with bristles ( 8 ), slats or fringes is approximately 1 cm wide all around. 3. Multi-purpose manicure beak according to claim 1, characterized in that it has two nail scissors insertion holes ( 9 ) with a diameter of approximately 1 cm ( 9 ) on both long sides, which are closed by an elastic cover with a scissors insertion hole. 4. Multi-purpose manicure beak according to protection claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the upper shell ( 4 ) has a recess ( 10 ) for inserting the wedge-shaped part of a nail clipper ( 12 ) into the hollow body ( 1 ). 5. Multi-purpose manicure beak according to protection claim 1, 2, 4, characterized in that it has a nail clipper holder (bridge) ( 11 ) running horizontally on the finger neck ( 2 ) at the bottom or on the upper edge of the opening for receiving and fixing the wedge-shaped converging end of the nail clipper ( 12 ). 6. Multi-purpose manicure beak according to protection claim 1, 2, 4, 5, characterized in that the recess ( 10 ) is shielded on the side facing the finger neck ( 2 ) with an apron formed by bristles, slats or with a plastic strip ( 16 ). 7. Multi-purpose manicure beak according to protection claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the cutting edge and handles of nail scissors, the handle (scissor eyes) of which are fixed in a cover ( 14 ), can be inserted through the finger neck ( 2 ) into the hollow body ( 1 ) and close it. 8. Multi-purpose manicure beak according to protection claims 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, characterized in that it can be assembled or disassembled from two parts due to a tongue-and-groove-like sliding closure ( 15 ) attached to the finger neck ( 2 ).
