Cleaning brush with flexible brush head

The invention relates to a tool according to the preamble of claim 1, in particular for toilet brushes for cleaning the odor trap of toilet bowls.

In order to effectively clean dirt and deposits from the inner walls of pipe bends with a brush, the brush head of the brush used must be flexible and adapt to the shape of the pipe bend.

It is well known that toilet brushes are used to clean the odor trap of toilet bowls in order to remove deposits and dirt. Toilet brushes with rigid or cranked brush heads are used for this purpose. The reach of these brushes is determined by the pipe bend of the odor trap on the deep or flat flush toilet. Due to the limited working range of the rigid brushes, effective cleaning of the pipe bend is not possible. The deposits of limescale and urine scale on the inner wall of the pipe bend are not removed. A possible blockage of the odor trap cannot be removed with these brushes either.

The object of the invention is to create a simple device for cleaning pipe bends, especially in toilet bowls, which flexibly adapts to the radius of the pipe bend and is variable in its range. After use, the device must return to its original shape for the purpose of easy storage and keeping.

This object is achieved by a tool having the features of claim 1.

A brush with a flexible brush head is an ideal tool for cleaning the inner wall of odor traps on low-flush and low-flush toilet bowls. As the entire, flexible brush head adapts to the radius of the pipe bend, the bristles of the head are not deformed when the brush is used and exert an even pressure on the entire circumference of the pipe wall. This ensures that possible deposits of lime and urine stone on the inner wall of the pipe bend of toilet bowls are effectively removed. This prevents these deposits from "growing" into the visible part of the odor trap. The use of aggressive chemical agents to remove lime and urine stone is not necessary.

Another advantage of a cleaning brush with a flexible brush head that can be adjusted in its reach is the easy removal of possible blockages in the odor traps, as the materials causing the blockages can be pushed beyond the apex of the odor trap with this brush.

According to the invention, the brush handle 1 and the brush head 2 according to Figure 1 are connected to one another by means of two tension springs 3 and 4 screwed together. In a toilet brush, the brush head 2 and the brush handle 1 are two separate components.

A tension spring 3 is attached to the lower end of the brush handle 1. Tension spring 3 and brush handle 1 have the same outer diameter.

A tension spring 4 is also attached to the brush head 2. The tension spring 4 on the brush head 2 has an inner diameter that corresponds to the outer diameter of the tension spring 3 on the brush handle 1. Both tension springs 3 and 4 can thus be screwed into one another. Even when both tension springs 3 and 4 are fully screwed in, they remain elastic and thus the brush head 2 remains flexible.

In order to ensure the smooth running of the springs 3 and 4 and to prevent them from becoming dirty, the springs 3 and 4 are protected by a flexible plastic hose 5. This plastic hose 5 is rotatably mounted on the brush handle 1 with a sleeve 6.

The toilet brush is easy to handle and store when tension springs 3 and 4 are screwed in.

If a greater working path of the brush head 2 in the toilet bowl 7 according to Figure 2 is necessary, this can be adjusted by turning the brush head 2 and brush handle 1 in opposite directions.
After use, the brush can be completely screwed back together.

A further advantage of this invention is the quick and easy replacement of the brush head 2 when it becomes worn. Furthermore, different shaped brush heads can be screwed onto the brush handle 1.
The brush stand also serves to store the different brush heads.
