Adjustable light

The present invention relates to a lamp for adjustable illumination of tables, shop windows and the like according to the preamble of claim 1.

A number of adjustable lights are already known in which the lamp head used to hold and hold the light sources leads via one or more simple articulated arms connected to one another to a relatively solid lamp base in which a ballast including the required transformer is arranged when low-voltage lamps are used. This lamp base is held on an existing table top either with the help of special clamping elements or solely under the influence of gravity.

However, such known lamps have the disadvantage that the lamp base provided in the rear area of table tops is often in the way when large quantities of paper or large architectural plans are spread out on the table top in question, while the existing lamp base also makes it difficult to clean the table top in question thoroughly.

The aim of the present innovation is to further develop such a known lamp with simple articulated arms in such a way that, while providing satisfactory illumination of tables, shop windows and the like, interference caused by an existing lamp base is largely avoided.

The innovation will now be explained and described in more detail using examples, with reference to the attached drawing. It shows:

Figure 1 shows a first embodiment of the lamp according to the invention, in which the lamp head is hinged to a holding arm projecting downwards from the cuboid-shaped housing.

According to Figure 1, the adjustable lamp according to the innovation has a cuboid-shaped housing 3 consisting of two housing halves 1 and 2, within which a ballast with a corresponding transformer for supplying a low-voltage lamp is arranged. On its front side, this housing 3 consisting of the two housing halves 1 and 2 is additionally provided with a semicircular bulge 6.

The lower housing half 2, however, forms a swivel joint 7 in the area of the semicircular bulge 6 that can be rotated about a vertical axis and in which a shorter holding arm 8 is mounted, which is essentially formed by two V-shaped arm parts 9 and 10. At the lower end of these two arm parts 9 and 10, a swivel joint 11 is provided, to which the swiveling articulation of a lamp head 12 takes place.

The pivoting lamp head 12 consists essentially of a base part 13 and a reflector part 14, which are connected to one another by means of a bayonet catch (not shown). The reflector part 14 in turn consists of a support ring 15, a conical light reflector 16, a front protective disk 17 and a retaining ring 18 enclosing the protective disk 17, the retaining ring 18 being fixed relative to the support ring 15 using a screw and two lateral projections 19 as shown in Figure 2. The arrangement is such that the bayonet catch (not shown) can be released when the reflector part 14 is rotated relative to the base part 13, so that the reflector part 14 can be removed in order to be able to replace the bulb 20 located inside the light reflector 16.

Figure 2 shows a similarly designed lamp, in which, however, an articulated arm 23 is articulated to the pivot joint 11 of the holding arm 8, each of which has a joint head 21, 22 at its ends, to whose lower joint head 22 the pivotable lamp head 12 is articulated.

Figure 3 finally shows a third embodiment in which a further correspondingly longer articulated arm 24 is arranged between the swivel joint 11 of the holding arm 8 and the articulated arm 23.

In the area of the various joint heads between the joint arms 23, 24 and the holding arm 8, elastically deformable O-rings are provided, which come to lie in corresponding ring grooves. With the help of these O-rings, an automatic friction fixation of the lamp head 12 in relation to the cuboid housing 3 is achieved, so that any point in space can be illuminated with the help of the innovative lamp.

The various parts of the lamp according to the innovation, with the exception of the Eutrack adapter 4, the light reflector 16, the protective screen 17 and the bulb 20, consist of die-cast aluminum elements, which preferably have a surface coating, for example with silver paint.

Depending on the design of the lamp head 12, the lamp according to the innovation can be fitted with a PAR bulb, a high-voltage halogen bulb, an HQI bulb, a low-voltage halogen bulb, any other low-voltage bulb or a neon tube. Instead of a transparent protective screen 17, a protective screen of any colour can also be provided.

Protection claims 1. Lamp for adjustable illumination of tables, shop windows and the like, consisting of a cuboid-shaped housing, preferably serving to accommodate a ballast, to which at least one simple holding or swivel arm for holding a lamp head is articulated by means of a joint,
characterized in that the cuboid-shaped housing (3) is provided with means (4) for ceiling fastening. 2. Luminaire according to claim 1,
characterized in that the means for fastening to the ceiling is a Eutrack adapter (4) which is pivotably attached to the cuboid-shaped housing (3) and which can be clamped inside a ceiling-mounted power rail. 3.
