Protective cap for treble hooks Description

The invention relates to a protective cap for a treble hook with a shaft and an eyelet for attachment to a spinning lure, a fishing line or the like.

Treble hooks are mostly used for fishing with spinning lures such as spoons, spinners, wobblers, pilkers or jerkbaits. When dragging over the bottom of the water, the treble hooks can get caught on obstacles such as rocks, stones, tree stumps, plants or the like. Such snags can lead to the treble hooks, the spinners and possibly the fishing line breaking. Such breaks not only lead to a loss of the treble hooks and the spinners, but also make it necessary to repair the fishing line, especially the line hook.

The object of the invention is to eliminate such hang-ups and breakages.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the protective cap has a sleeve for putting on the shaft of the treble hook and fingers for gripping the individual hooks of the treble hook in a bell-shaped manner.

The invention differs from the state of the art in that the bell-shaped protective cap covers the individual hooks of the treble hook in such a way that the individual hooks do not protrude beyond the outline of the protective cap. The protective cap slides over the bottom of the water without great resistance, so that snags are almost impossible. The bite of a predatory fish is not hindered by the yielding and flexible fingers. The protective cap sits on the shaft of the treble hook in a non-rotatable and non-movable manner, so that the function of the spinning bait is not hindered. The protective cap can be replaced without difficulty.

Fishing is not hindered by the protective cap because the weight of the protective cap is less than 1 g.

The adaptation of the protective cap to the treble hook is optimized by arranging six fingers in three pairs in the circumferential direction, each leaving a gap.

The resilience and flexibility of the protective cap is increased by the fact that each finger has a flexible joint adjacent to the head part. This allows the fingers to move inwards so easily that a predatory fish can bite without being disturbed.

A simple design of the bending joint is made possible by the fact that the bending joint is realized by a cross-sectional narrowing.

Adaptation to the treble hook is achieved by the sleeve having a slot-shaped passage and a subsequent receptacle with a T-shaped cross-section. This provides protection against twisting on the shaft of the treble hook. Shifting is prevented by the shape of the receptacle and the effect of the eyelet of the treble hook.

The protective cap 1 is bell-shaped and is an injection-molded part made of

a flexible thermoplastic. On the head part 2 there is a sleeve 3 with a slot-shaped passage for the shaft 5 of a treble hook 6, see Fig. 6. Below the head part 2 the sleeve 3 has a widening 7 adjacent to the passage 4, so that the receptacle 8 of the sleeve 3 has a T-shaped cross-section as shown in Fig. 3.

The sleeve 3 can thus be pushed or pushed onto the shaft 5 of the treble hook 6 and is fixed by the holder. The foot of the third single hook of the treble hook 6 finds space in the widening 7. The sleeve 3 and thus the protective cap 1 thus sits securely against twisting and sliding on the shaft 5 of the treble hook 6. The eyelet 9 of the treble hook 6 protrudes from the head part 2 of the protective cap 1 and prevents the protective cap from slipping off. The eyelet 9 can be attached in the usual way to a spinning lure, a spoon, a wobbler, a jerkbait, a pilker or to a fishing line.

The head part 2 of the protective cap 2 is connected to six bell-shaped fingers 10, which are arranged in pairs in three pairs of fingers 11, 12, 13, with each pair of fingers 11, 12, 13 defining a gap 14. Each gap 14 of a pair of fingers 11, 12, 13 is aligned with a single hook 15 of the treble hook 6.

Fig. 4 shows the shape of a finger 10. By narrowing the cross-section, a bending joint 16 is formed in the area of each finger 12 facing the head part 2, so that the flexible fingers 10 can easily give way in the radial direction. This movement is not hindered by the individual hooks, since the individual hooks 15 are each aligned with a gap 14.

Protective cap for a treble hook with a shaft and an eyelet for attachment to a spinning bait, a fishing line or the like, characterized in that the protective cap (1) has a sleeve (3) for attaching to the shaft (5) of the treble hook (6) and fingers (10) for engaging in a bell-shaped manner over the individual hooks (15) of the treble hook (6). 2. Protective cap according to claim 1, characterized in that the weight of the protective cap is less than 1 g. 3. Protective cap according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that six fingers (10) are arranged in three pairs of fingers (11, 12, 13) in the circumferential direction, each leaving a gap (14). 4. Protective cap according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that each finger (10) has a flexible joint (15) adjacent to the head part (2). 5. Protective cap according to claim 4, characterized in that the bending joint (15) is realized by a cross-sectional constriction. 6. Protective cap according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the sleeve (3) has a slot-shaped passage (4) and, adjoining it, a receptacle (8) with a T-shaped cross-section.
