Es sind allgemein Hochwasserdeiche und Hochwasserspeicher bekannt, die die Katastrophe einer Überschwemmung verhindern sollen. Leider reichen diese Maßnahmen manchmal nicht aus, was besonders in letzter Zeit deutlich zu erkennen war. Riesige materielle Schäden und maßloses menschliches Leiden sind Folgen eines unzureichenden Hochwasserschutzes.Flood embankments and flood reservoirs are well known to prevent the disaster of flooding. In Gebieten wo das Hochwasser besonders großen Schaden verursachen kann, sollten möglichst mehrere Wasserabflußbeschleunigungsanlagen zur Vorbeugungs des Wasseraustritts aus dem Flußbett in nicht allzu großer Entfernung hintereinander gebaut werden. Nach jeder Wasserabflußbeschleunigungsanlage erhöht sich das Niveau des Wasserspiegels deutlich, so daß die vergrößerte Niveaudifferenz zu einem schnelleren Wasserabfluß führt, außerdem wird die Wasserabflußgeschwindigkeit auch durch die Anlage selbst erhöht.The advantages achieved with the invention are based in particular on the fact that the system can be used as soon as there is an expected risk of flooding. Besonders empfehlenswert ist der Bau in Gebieten, in denen Hochwasser besonders großen Schaden verursachen kann: Außerdem können kleinere Plattformen oder einzelne Turbinensätze in Bewässerungs-, Entwässerungs- und Abwässerungskanälen angewendet werden. In diesen Fällen kann die Schnecke von verschiedenen Motoren bzw. von Einrichtungen zur Nutzung der Naturkräfte angetrieben werden.
