Ziel der Erfindung ist es, die kindlichen Insassen bzw. behinderten Insassen von Kraftfahrzeugen während eines Crash über die Schutzwirkung bekannter Sicherheitsschutzsysteme hinaus zu schützen.The aim of the invention is to protect child passengers or disabled passengers of motor vehicles during a crash beyond the protective effect of known safety protection systems.

Erfindungsgemäß wird die Aufgabe dadurch gelöst, daß der Airbag einem zusätzlichen Deformationselement, welches als Schutzpolster arbeitet, vorgeschaltet ist. Dieses Schutzpolster dient zum einem dem gezielten Einströmen des Airbagfüllgases in den Airbag, um so kindliche oder behinderte Insassen besonders zu schützen und zum anderem der sicheren Anbindung des Insassens an das Fahrzeug durch ein geeignetes Rückhaltesystem, welches als konventionelles Gurtsystem ausgeführt sein kann oder auch als fest ausgeführte Verbindung durch eine entsprechende Haltevorrichtung konzipiert sein kann.According to the invention, the object is achieved in that the airbag is connected upstream of an additional deformation element, which works as a protective cushion. Figur 1 und Figur 2 beschreibt ein Airbag/Prailpolster/kissensystem bei dem zwei Möglichkeiten der Befestigung ausgeführt sind. In Figur 1 ist gezeigt, wie das Kinderrückhaltesystem durch ein konventionelles Gurtsystem (1) gehalten wird. Figur 2 zeigt als Halterung ein Scharnier (2). Beispielhaft ist die Lage des Gasgenerators (3) aufgezeigt. Das Airbaggewebe (4) ist im Prallkissen (5) integriert. Es können ein Strömungskanal (6) oder auch mehrere Strömungskanäle verwendet werden, um z.B. ein diffuses Einströmen des den Airbag füllenden Gases zu ermöglichen. Der Airbag wird hierbei auf der Oberfläche des Prallkissens (7) befestigt. Dies kann z.B. durch eine Klebung oder durch einen eingeschäumten Metalikorb o.a. geschehen, der gleichzeitig in der Lage ist, Energie zu absorbieren. Durch die Art des Einströmens des Gases in den Airbag werden Massen- und Gaskräfte verringert, wodurch die Out-Of-Position-Problematik reduziert wird.Figure 1 and Figure 2 describe an airbag/bumper pad/cushion system in which two fastening options are implemented.
