Das in der Zeichnung dargestellte Zaumzeug weist ein Genickstück 11 auf, das hinter den Ohren 12 des Pferdes verläuft. An den seitlichen Anlenkungsbereichen 13 teilt sich das Genickstück in einen Kehlriemen 14 und einen Gebissriemen 15 auf. An dem Gebissriemen sind über Gebissringe die Zügel befestigt. Weiterhin umfasst die Reittrense einen Reithalfterriemen 16, dessen vorderer Bereich mit dem Nasenriemen 17 verbunden ist, der unter dem Unterkopf des Pferdes verschließbar ist. An dem Nasenriemen 17 kann auch ein Sperrriemen 23 vorhanden sein. Der hintere Bereich 18 des Reithalfterriemens verläuft lose unter dem Genickstück 11. Weiterhin ist ein quer verlaufender Stirnriemen 19 angenäht, der über die 0 Stirn des Pferdes verläuft.
