Abstract

The accessory to make braided objects has a base body (1) with a number of drillings. A number of shaped units (2,3) are inserted into the drillings, and can be bent into shape and retain their bent shapes, as wire loops with their ends (2a,2b,3a,3b) within the drillings. The base body has the shape of a disk, cube, ball or a hemisphere of wood, or a medium density fiberboard, or plastics.

Auxiliary device for the production of braided objects

The invention relates to an auxiliary device for producing woven objects, for example baskets, fruit bowls, bread bowls, lampshades or bottle coolers.

It is already known to produce braided items in a factory or a craft workshop using braiding machines. It is also already known to produce braided items in a craft workshop without using a braiding machine, in the sense of a manual operation. The latter is carried out by trained personnel who have a good command of the skill of braiding.

The object of the invention is to make it easier for people, especially hobbyists, who do not have a good command of the weaving craft, to produce braided objects.

This object is achieved by an auxiliary device with the features specified in claim 1 and a packaging unit with the features specified in claim 15. Advantageous embodiments and further developments of the invention are specified in claims 2-14.

The advantages of the invention are in particular that the user is provided with an auxiliary device in the form of a kit, which, when assembled, determines the shape of the object to be braided. The user can then carry out the braiding process.

by guiding the braiding material in the desired manner through the multitude of molded parts that are inserted into the base body. Once the braiding process is finished, the auxiliary device remains inside the braided object.

If the molded parts are wire brackets with the features specified in claim 4, the user has access between two adjacent wire brackets in the direction of the base body during the braiding process. This makes it possible to add or remove braiding material, which is usually in the form of long strips, to the braiding process at almost any point. This also makes the braiding options easier and expands them.

Since the inward forces increase as the braiding process progresses, it is advantageous to insert a spacer from the open side into the body to be manufactured. By using such a spacer, it can be ensured, for example, that the side walls of the object to be braided have a desired shape or run at a desired angle to the base body.

Immediately after the molded parts are inserted into the base body and in the initial phase of the braiding process, there is a certain probability that one or more molded parts will become detached from the base body in an undesirable manner. This probability can be reduced by guiding a rubber ring, as is the subject of claim 14, over the outside of the assembled auxiliary device and holding the auxiliary device together at a position remote from the base body. The effect of this rubber ring exerts forces on the end regions of the molded parts, as a result of which the hold of the molded parts in the holes in the base body is improved.

The invention relates to an auxiliary device for producing braided objects, which has a base body provided with a plurality of holes and a plurality of molded parts made of flexible material that remains dimensionally stable after bending. The molded parts can be inserted into the holes in the base body.

To illustrate the invention, Figure 1 shows a sketch of a plan view of a base body into which two wire brackets are inserted. The base body is a round disk 1, which is provided with holes on its front sides, which are distributed equidistantly along the outer circumference of the disk 1.

The end regions 2a and 2b of a wire bracket 2 are inserted into two adjacent holes, which are arranged on the left side of the disc 1 in Figure 1. The middle regions 2c and 2d of the wire bracket 2 move away from each other as the distance from the disc 1 increases and are connected to each other on their side remote from the disc 1 by a web 2e. This web 2e runs approximately at right angles to the middle regions 2c and 2d.

The end regions 3a and 3b of a wire bracket 3 are inserted into two further of the holes mentioned, which are arranged on the right-hand side of the disc 1 in Figure 1. The middle regions 3c and 3d of the wire bracket 3 move away from each other as the distance from the disc 1 increases and are connected to each other on their side remote from the disc 1 by a web 3e. This web 3e runs approximately at right angles to the middle regions 3c and 3d.

In a similar way, further wire brackets are inserted into the other holes distributed equidistantly around the circumference of the disc 1, so that the auxiliary device as a whole already has the shape of the desired object to be braided, which in the present case is a bowl.

Figure 2 shows a sketch of a side view of the base body 1 shown in Figure 1. From this figure it can be seen that the middle areas of the wire brackets 2 and 3 are bent upwards. Furthermore, the holes 4 located on the front face of the disc 1 are illustrated in this figure.

Figure 3 shows a sketch of a side view of the base body 1 shown in Figure 2, wherein after the wire brackets have been inserted, a rubber ring 5 has been guided over the outside of the inserted wire brackets 2, 3.

This rubber ring holds the auxiliary device together at a position remote from the base body 1. The forces exerted by the rubber ring, which act in the direction of the arrows &khgr; and y, exert forces on the end areas of the wire brackets inserted into the holes in the base body 1, due to which an improved hold of the respective wire bracket in the base body 1 is achieved.

Figure 4 shows a sketch of a side view of the base body 1 shown in Figure 2, whereby after this insertion a disk-shaped spacer 6 was inserted between the wire brackets from above. This spacer 6 exerts forces on the auxiliary device which act outwards, i.e. in the direction of the arrows u and

v. The spacer 6, which is preferably only inserted during the braiding work after the rubber ring has been removed, ensures in particular that the forces caused by the already braided material and acting inwards cannot cause any undesirable deformation of the side walls of the object to be braided. Once the braiding work is finished, the spacer, which can be provided with a handle loop or a handle recess on its top, is removed from the braided object.

Figure 5 shows a sketch of a side view of a finished woven article, which is a basket. From this figure it can be seen that the auxiliary device remains in the woven article after completion of the latter, so that a final product is created which consists of the assembled auxiliary device and the woven material.

The base body 1 is preferably made of wood or plastic. If the base body is made of wood, then it can be realized as a plywood board or as a medium density fiberboard (MDF). If the base body is made of plastic, then it is in particular

a plastic injection-molded part in which the holes mentioned have already been drilled.

The wire hangers are preferably made of stainless steel or treated wire, especially galvanized or chrome-plated wire. This has the advantage that the auxiliary device not only has a visually appealing appearance, but is also protected against rusting. This makes it possible, for example, to store food in the braided object.

An auxiliary device according to the invention is advantageously offered on the market in the form of a packaging unit that contains the individual components of the auxiliary device in the form of a kit. Such packaging units can be offered in particular on the hobby and craft market. The form of the end product is predetermined by the kit mentioned. It is possible to offer various kits on the market, each of which can be further processed into a different end product. For example, baskets, lampshades, bottle coolers, etc. can be produced in the manner described above in addition to bowls.

As an alternative to a disk, a hemisphere, a sphere or a cube can be used as the base body.

Claims (15)

Auxiliary device for producing braided articles, which comprises: - a base body ( 1 ) provided with a plurality of bores ( 4 ) and - a plurality of molded parts ( 2 , 3 ) made of flexible material which remains dimensionally stable after bending and which can be inserted into the bores of the base body. 2. Auxiliary device according to claim 1, characterized in that the bores ( 4 ) on the base body ( 1 ) are distributed equidistantly. 3. Auxiliary device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the molded parts are wire brackets. 4. Auxiliary device according to claim 3, characterized in that a wire bracket has two end regions ( 2 a, 2 b; 3 a, 3 b) which can be inserted into adjacent holes in the base body, that the wire bracket in the inserted state has central regions ( 2 c, 2 d; 3 c, 3 d) which move away from one another with increasing distance from the base body and are bent upwards, and that the wire bracket forms a web ( 2 e; 3 e) connecting the central regions on its side facing away from the end regions. 5. Auxiliary device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the molded parts have the same shape. 6. Auxiliary device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the base body is a disc. 7. Auxiliary device according to claim 6, characterized in that the bores are made in the front side of the disc. 8. Auxiliary device according to one of claims 1-5, characterized in that the base body is a cube, a sphere or a hemisphere. 9. Auxiliary device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the base body consists of wood. 10. Auxiliary device according to claim 9, characterized in that the base body is a plywood board or a medium-density fiberboard. 11. Auxiliary device according to one of claims 1-8, characterized in that the base body consists of plastic. 12. Auxiliary device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it further comprises a spacer ( 6 ). 13. Auxiliary device according to claim 12, characterized in that the spacer is a disc. 14. Auxiliary device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it further comprises a rubber ring ( 5 ). 15.
