Abstract

A single axle shopping trolley has two large wheels (2) on an axle on which is supported a wire shopping basket (22) and a handgrip (5) and a folding stand (16) to support the trolley when standing. The handgrip is fitted with a coupling to connect the trolley to a bicycle. The two part coupling has a tube (7) fitted to the hand grip and a bracket (13) secured to the bicycle, e.g. to the rear luggage grid. The bicycle fitting has a shaft which fits into the tube and is locked by either a screw lock (11) of a snap fastening lock. The shaft is connected to the bracket via a damping coupling which reduces uncontrolled movements when towing. The wheels are larger than in conventional shopping trolleys and can be solid rubber or inflated.

Wenngleich sich ein solcher Einkaufswagen in hervorragender Weise zum Beladen im Supermarkt eignet, lässt sich dieser aufgrund seiner kleinen Räder nur bedingt auf einem Gehweg oder gar auf der Straße verwenden.
