Vertically extendable containers of the usual design are used as general cargo containers (DE 94 20 879 U1) or as silos for bulk goods of all kinds (GB 1 578 368). In these designs, the vertical mobility is there to change the volume of space in these containers. Vertically extendable containers of the usual design aim to change the height of the space and thus the volume; this does not change the size of the usable space. Vertically extendable containers of the usual design are not to be used as living spaces for people. Other extendable or expandable containers of the usual design are based on the technology of horizontal expansion, the use of which requires a base area that is larger than the actual base area of the folded container. In the case of horizontally extendable containers (e.g. DE, roll number G 94 08 060.7), the cantilever loads that occur generate considerable forces that are difficult to control with additional measures such as support or foundations. Sealing problems arise at the connection points of the folded-over or pulled-out space-forming elements, as the flexible use makes sealing against wind and moisture difficult, particularly in the roof and on the side walls.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating vertically extendable living and storage containers with expandable usable space from several spatial shells for storage, living and other rooms and shaping them in such a way that they can be easily transported by rail, ship or truck when retracted and that the usable space inside these containers is significantly increased when extended, thereby avoiding static problems or sealing problems and at the same time achieving the most effective possible increase in usable space.

This problem is solved with the features listed in claim 1.

The invention enables this container to be converted from several room shells into several usable rooms placed one above the other without using up additional floor space, each of which has its own usable area. When extended, several different rooms are generally formed, with the room shell pushed upwards using the ceiling of the lower room shell as a floor, which can then be used as a free area. By pushing out the individual room shells in a vertical direction, the thermal sealing of the contact points of two room shells lying one above the other is positioned in an area that is protected from rain and weather, thus avoiding complex and costly sealing techniques such as pressure strips or similar.

The container can also be used as a holiday home or beach apartment or mobile home or observation platform or emergency accommodation, or for civil protection or disaster control or military technical purposes, or as an attachment for mobile homes or caravan undercarriages.

An advantageous embodiment of the invention is specified in claims 2 to 9.

The further development according to protection claim 2 enables transport in a container-typical manner, for example by rail, truck or ship.

The further development according to protection claim 3 enables the spatial and organizational connection of the individual usable areas created with each other.

The further development according to protection claim 4 enables the inclusion of volume-consuming, fixed installations as well as functional rooms, such as bathrooms, kitchens, stairs, elevators or similar, even when the module is retracted.

The further development according to protection claims 5, 6 and 7 enables a further extension of the usable space on the upper floor. By folding out a wall, for example half up and half down, and by pulling out flexible facade elements or by sliding out facade elements, the usable space on the upper floor can be almost doubled. By using transparent and/or heat-insulating facade parts, the enclosed rooms can also be used as a very well-lit office or studio, for example. The possibility of storing and parking the facade elements when retracted between the room shell walls enables the highest level of comfort when setting up the entire module, as the retractable facades are already at the appropriate level and can only be moved and positioned horizontally, in the guide rails provided, for example by one person manually or hydraulically, pneumatically or electrically using a control panel. The simple handling of these facades means that large openings in the room can be created without any problem if necessary, for example at high temperatures for ventilation or as an opening for access.

Of course, transparent surfaces or opening elements can also be integrated into all other external surfaces of the room envelope.

The further development according to claim 8 enables the module to be used, for example, as a stage or sales room.

The further development according to protection claim 10 enables the use of several of these containers in combination with each other, the stackability even when extended enables the use as multi-storey buildings, which leads to floor space and thus financial savings, especially in inner-city situations.

The further development according to protection claim 11 enables the spatial and organizational connection between stacked containers by means of, for example, stairs or elevators.

The extendable outer shell (2) lies on the ceiling (3) of the inner shell (1), the parked facades (7) are positioned exactly between the two shells (1;2) and are suspended from the ceiling of the outer shell (2).

Claims (11)

1. Accommodation and storage container with expandable usable space from room shells for gaining space and usable space for storage, accommodation and other rooms, characterized in that it can be pulled apart vertically and has at least two room shells ( 1 ; 2 ) that can be moved into one another, and that each room shell has a ceiling ( 3 ) and that the respective outer room shell ( 2 ) can be moved upwards, whereby a further room ( 4 ) is created, the floor of which is formed by the ceiling of the nearest inner room shell. 2. Accommodation and storage container with expandable usable space according to claim 1, characterized in that the entire, folded container can be transported in a container-typical manner by motor vehicle or bus or ship or by another vehicle. 3. Accommodation and storage container with expandable usable space according to claim 1 and 2, characterized in that the various room shell ceilings and the floor of the innermost room shell are connected to one another via a vertical access ( 5 ). 4. Accommodation and storage container with expandable usable space according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the innermost space shell accommodates permanent technical and organizational facilities and ancillary rooms which do not hinder the folding up of the overall construction. 5. Accommodation and storage container with expandable usable space according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the outer space shells have foldable walls ( 6 ) on at least one side, which can be folded halfway up or halfway down. 6. Accommodation and storage container with expandable usable space according to claim 5, characterized in that the openings created by folding up the walls are closed with a facade ( 7 ) which can be moved perpendicularly to the facade plane and which is parked between the room shell walls when not in use. 7.
