Die Aufsicht gemäss Figur 1 und der Querschnitt entlang der Linie A-A' gemäss Figur 2 zeigen eine erfindungsgemässe Verpackung 1 am Beispiel für die Verwendung von Visitenkarten-CD/DVD 9. Die Verpackung 1 hat eine rechteckige Form, welche in ihrer Grundfläche grosser als die zu verpackende CD/DVD ist. Auf einer Grundplatte 4 weist sie einen zentralen Auflagering oder einfach eine kreisscheibenförmige Auflagefläche 43 auf. Die Auflagefläche 43 entspricht maximal der inneren, zentralen, nicht mit Daten beschreibbaren Fläche der CD/DVD. Konzentrisch darauf kann ein Halteknopf 42 vorhanden sein. Der Halteknopf 42 ist an die Antriebsöffnung der CD/DVD angepasst. Die Verpackung weist nun Schutzbereiche 20 auf. Diese schützen eine eingelegte DC/DVD gegen mechanische Belastung an ihren Rändern.
