Abstract

The new package (1) for CD/DVD has a rectangular shape with a base surface larger than the CD/DVD to be packaged. On a base plate (4), it has a central bearing ring or simply a disc-shaped bearing surface (43). The support surface (43) corresponds at most to the surface of the CD/DVD on which no data is written in the inner center. A retaining button (42) is arranged concentrically with the bearing surface. The retaining button (42) is adapted to a drive hole of a CD/DVD. The package has a protective area (20). These protection areas protect the inserted CDs/DVDs from mechanical loads on their edges. These protection areas are provided with notches (23) corresponding to the outer contour of the inserted CD/DVD. The protective regions (20) surround the inserted CD/DVD at least in two regions lying opposite one another.
