Slicing device for fruit and vegetables.

Conventional slicing devices consist of punches, rotary disks with one or more knives, planers, and feed-through grids.

With these devices, the peeled and cored fruit must be processed in a second step. When punching and throwing, no pulling cut is achieved and the cut surface is not smooth. When punching, throwing and using the rotating disc, the following applies: The fruit can rotate and the slices become uneven, odd, the core hole is no longer in the middle.

Furthermore, peeling machines are known such as DE 299 05 829 Ul. Here the slices are cut by a fixed knife, the apple has to be moved past the knife, a return movement is necessary before the next operation.

The resulting band still has to be cut into slices. The resulting band breaks into pieces when cut because there is no guide for the resulting band and it hangs down and breaks off. The slices are irregular and broken.

Furthermore, my utility model 200 02 764.6 is known. This is a device that uses a rotating set of blades to produce closed, straight slices by means of a pulling cut. The disadvantage is that the device is relatively complex and expensive.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the problem of creating a disc cutting device which can work as a separate machine or can be retrofitted to other machines and has the following advantages:

It should be sufficient if the fruit is placed on a rotating plate, as is the case with all peeling machines, without moving the apple vertically.

The knife must fold away when the cutting arm returns to prevent damage to the fruit and stripping. The cutting angle should be adjustable to achieve a pulling cut.

The cutting tube should divide the cut fruit into individual slices/pieces. The slicing device should be designed in such a way that simultaneous peeling is possible. The slicing device should be as simple and inexpensive as possible.

These problems are solved with the features specified in protection claims 1-3:

Safety claim: The pivoting blade ensures that cutting only takes place during the inward movement and the fruit is not stripped during the backward movement.

Protection claim 2: The adjustable cutting angle ensures that the fruit/vegetable is pressed against the mandrel, resulting in a pulling cut.

Protection claim 3: By means of a cutter with one or more blades it is achieved that the band created during cutting is divided when the stalks/cores are cut out, or a head of lettuce or an onion is divided into different fine pieces.

One possible design is shown in sketch 1 (front view), sketch 2 (side view) and sketch 3 (top view). The knife (1) is pressed against the fruit holder (2) during the rotating movement. This creates an even band (3) which still holds together in the middle (4). During the inward movement (5) the knife rests on the adjusting screw (6). During the outward movement (7) the knife folds to the side so as not to push the fruit/vegetable off the fruit holder/damage it. The cut band remains centered on the fruit holder until the cutting process with the cutting tube (8), which uses its cutting edge(s) (9) to immediately divide the band into individual slices/pieces. Peeling can take place at the same time as the cutting process (11). The feed of the knife (12) can be coupled with the peeling knife or can be carried out easily and adjustable using compressed air, for example.

The cutting angle (z) can be varied so that the fruit is pressed against the mandrel and holds better, the peel is pressed against the pulp, or the lettuce leaves are pressed against the stalk, or the onion slices are pressed against the central axis so that they do not fall apart. (Obtuse angle = pulling cut).
