Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a motor vehicle, in particular a taller one Passenger car, with a roof that can be stored in a convertible top compartment part or convertible top, with the rear view when viewed in the direction of travel Convertible top compartment of one at the height of the closed vehicle roof lying in a position substantially at the level of the door sill line lying position can be lowered. Such a motor vehicle is from the DE 40 26 120 C2 known.
Basically there are a variety of embodiments for motor vehicles with removable, especially rigid roof parts or opening ver cover, in particular folding hoods known. It is particularly advantageous when the removed roof part or the open top in one So-called top compartment, which can preferably be covered, can be stored there then the motor vehicle opened in the roof area is a self-contained one Appearance, which also in terms of flow conditions is favorable in terms of the wind. Furthermore, the removed roof part or the open folding top in a top compartment, so to speak, "clean" cleared.
A special embodiment for a top compartment shows the above. Font. Here the convertible top compartment can be moved in the vertical direction. Except based on his usual, at the level of the door sill line of the car The lower position is the top compartment at the height of the vehicle roofs can be raised, after which the vehicle roof translates into the roof box can be pushed in. Then the Ver Move the deck box back to its lower, lower position.
With regard to the sliding movement of the vehicle roof is construction simple, but the appearance of this well-known car is in the lowered position of the convertible top compartment that is customary for this car not only extremely unfamiliar, but it especially leaves the space eco nomie left a lot to be desired in this car.
The convertible top compartment is intended to be a completely new and there with the present invention in advantageous vehicle concept for a motor vehicle with one in one Convertible top compartment or roof compartment can be shown (= on surrender of the present invention, starting from a motor vehicle the preamble of claim 1).
The solution to this problem is characterized in that in the we considerable in the height of the closed vehicle roof Convertible top compartment the motor vehicle has a self-contained structure and therefore also full in this raised position of the convertible top compartment is functional and mobile. Advantageous training and further education are Content of the subclaims.
With the features of the invention, the top compartment at ge closed roof always remain in the raised position, d. H. With when the top compartment is raised there is a self-contained body structure with the shape of a station wagon or a van. So that is created space below the raised roof compartment, the esp can be used as storage space. However, the vehicle should roof or a roof part or the top are opened, this is in the Stowage compartment stored and this then in its lowered, essentially Chen position at the level of the door sill line. In order to you get a new type of body structure in the form of one out of one Station wagon or a van emerged from a convertible. Two from In principle, completely different vehicle concepts can be created unite with the present invention.
The invention is explained in more detail with reference to two preferred exemplary embodiments, wherein in the attached FIGS. 1-7 a first embodiment of a motor vehicle according to the invention with its essential components in perspective in various states, such as in the closed state, in intermediate steps when the vehicle is opened. Roof, as well as in the open state, is shown. Fig. 8 shows a second embodiment when opening the vehicle roof.
In all figures, the reference number 1 denotes the vehicle roof of a passenger car of higher construction which, as shown in FIG. 1, has the shape of a station wagon or a van when closed. In this state, this motor vehicle has a self-contained body structure, so that it is a fully functional and therefore also mobile car. The supervision of this motor vehicle is done obliquely from the front laterally above, which also results from the direction of travel 2 shown by an arrow. This motor vehicle or this car has two doors 3 a, 3 b arranged one behind the other on the left and on the right, through which a so-called door parapet line 4 is also defined.
As can be seen in particular from FIG. 7, a B-pillar provided between the front door 3 a and the rear door 3 b does not extend as far as the vehicle roof 1 , but rather starting from the floor platform of the - in contrast to the conventional closed car constructions Vehicle only up to the parapet line 4 , so that this B-pillar is not visible in all figures. In this regard, the present construction is similar to a convertible or a coupé. Returning again to FIG. 1, but one can see the usual front A-pillar 5, is also a common C-pillar 6 behind the rear door 3 b, and a valve disposed at the rear end of the vehicle D-pillar element 7.
This D-pillar element 7 can be an articulated ne, inherently rigid pillar, which - in order to achieve the state according to FIG. 7, can be suitably folded away. However, this D-pillar element is preferably a structural unit made of a hinged linkage which is covered by a flexible clothing. Also, since the full D-pillar member 7 (as well as the A pillar 5 and the C-pillar 6) extends to the vehicle roof 1 and since the substantially flat vehicle roof 1 of the end of the A-pillars 5 to the end D-pillar elements 6 extends, storage space is thus available between the (both-sided) C-pillars 6 and the (both-sided) D-pillar elements 7 in the taller car shown.
As usual, 4 side window panes 8 are provided in the two doors 3 a, 3 b above the door sill line, which are completely retractable into the respective door body below the door sill line 4 . Also between the C-pillar 6 and the D-pillar element 7 , a side window pane 8 is provided, which is preferably flexible and thus foldable, but alternatively can also be rigid and can be suitably retractable. Furthermore, is located on the rear end side of the motor vehicle (and thus the front windshield 9 opposite ge) a preferably rigid, ie not flexible rear window 10 , which, however, in an alternative embodiment of the invention can also be designed to be flexible and thus foldable.
The vehicle roof 1 can be opened, as will now be described below with reference to FIGS. 2-7. In FIGS. 6, 7 while the geöff designated state or almost the (open) end state is shown, which was originally closed, thereby fully functional and mobile station-wagon or van (FIG. 1) converted in wel chem in a convertible is changing, which of course also represents a fully functional and thus mobile vehicle. The state according to FIG. 6 differs from that according to FIG. 7 only in that in the latter state the side window panes 8 are sunk in the doors 3 a, 3 b, while in the state according to FIG. 6 they are in their fully raised position are located.
Fig. 7 ist dabei ein sog. A so-called convertible top compartment 11 , in which the vehicle roof 1 or more precisely roof parts 13 thereof can be stored, is essential for the conversion process from FIG. 1 to FIG. 6 or FIG. 7 just mentioned. This convertible top compartment 11 can be seen, inter alia, in FIGS. 3, 4. As can be seen, it is essentially part of the vehicle roof 1 and lies in the area between the C-pillars 6 and the D-pillar elements 7 . At the top, the convertible top compartment 11 is covered by a cover part 12 , which, in the state covering the convertible top compartment 11 (see FIGS. 2, 4), lies in the plane of the closed vehicle roof 1 and is therefore a component of the closed vehicle roof 1 . Below this Dec kelteiles 12 is the actual convertible top compartment 11th Roof parts 13 of the vehicle roof 1 can be stowed into this convertible top compartment 11 when the cover part 12 is in its open position, which is shown in FIG. 3.
The conversion process from the closed state according to FIG. 1 to that according to FIGS . 6, 7 will now be described in detail below. For this purpose is first of FIG. 2, the rear window 10 which is substantially steeply connects in the closed state of the motor vehicle at substantially lying in the height of the vehicle roof 1 top compartment 11 at its trailing edge 11 a standing, moved under the cover part 12 of the top compartment 11 . For this purpose too, the rear window 10 can be pivoted upward, analogously to a tailgate, about a pivot axis which runs transversely to the direction of travel 2 and is essentially at the height of the closed vehicle roof 1 . Starting from this hochge swiveled position, in which the storage box located below the Ver deck box 11 thus positioned is accessible from the outside, the rear window 10 can then be pushed in the direction of travel 2 into the top box 11 .
In the next step, shown in Fig. 3, the obenlie constricting lid part is first 12 of the top compartment 11 is pivoted about a transversely to the direction 2 extending substantially in height of the closed vehicle roof 1 lying behind the pivot axis upward, so that the Ver deck box 11 is now accessible from above or diagonally from the top front. Now the roof parts 13 of the vehicle roof 1 lying in front of this can be stowed in this convertible top compartment 11 .
As can be seen in this first embodiment of the invention, the vehicle roof 1 is designed as a multi-part folding roof, that is, the multiple, here three roof parts 13 of the front roof box 11 or before its Dec kelteil 12 vehicle roof 1 can by means of a suitable folding mechanism, not shown and explained can be stored or stored one above the other in the open top compartment 11 . Of this folding mechanism just mentioned, only one pivot lever 14 is visible in FIG. 3. Thereupon, as shown in Fig. 4, the cover part 12 is lowered again and thus the convertible top compartment 11 is closed ver.
In the next step, the beginning of which is shown in FIG. 5, the two side window panes 8 between the C-pillars 6 and the D-pillar elements 7 and these D-pillar elements 7 are preferably brought into a so-called lowered position together with the convertible top compartment 11 , in which the convertible top compartment is located substantially at the level of the door parapet line 4 , as is shown almost in FIG. 6. Fig. 6 shows an intermediate condition just before the top compartment 11 reaches its fully lowered position during the descent.
By comparing Fig. 5 with Fig. 4 it can be seen that the United deck box 11 or its cover part 12 not only from the D-pillar elements 7 on both sides, but also from the C-pillars 6 and one of the two C's -Columns 6 interconnected C-pillar carriers 6 a are / will be worn. As shown in FIGS. 6, 7 show forms of these horizontal Wesent union as well as transversely to the direction 2 extending C-pillar 6 a carrier together with the two C-pillars 6 a roll bar for the present, in this state convertible.
Returning to FIG. 5, the convertible top compartment 11 with its cover part 12 is initially shifted slightly towards the rear 2 in the direction of the arrow 15 so that it is moved out of the unspecified guides in the C-pillar support 6 a, after which the convertible top compartment 11 by suitable actuation of the D-pillar elements 7 together with them according to arrow 16 is moved into the lowered position shown in FIG. 6. Then the side window panes 8 in the doors 3 a, 3 b can be lowered, after which the fully open cabriolet state according to FIG. 7 is reached.
In the second embodiment according to Fig. 8 which is viewed in the direction of travel 2 as deck 13 before the top compartment 11 and before the lid part 2 horizontal roof part 13 'is formed, wherein this in comparison deck box 11 can be stored convertible top 13' preferably by a foldable, with a suitable linkage 17 provided cloth top. The rest of the parts of the motor vehicle shown in FIG. 8 are essentially the same as the first exemplary embodiment, although it should also be noted that a large number of details, in particular of a constructive nature, can be designed quite differently from the exemplary embodiments shown, without the content of the claims to leave. Thus, a trunk (not shown here) can preferably be provided below the convertible top compartment 11 which is in the lowered position and is accessible via a flap provided in the rear area of the vehicle.
