Description
Die Herstellung von nicht gewebten oder nicht gewirkten Faservliesen ist bekannt. Für die Haltbarkeit bzw. Festigkeit derartiger Vliese ist es wesentlich, daß die einzelnen Fasern genügend aneinander haften, was durch verschiedene Maßnahmen erzielbar ist. So ist z. B. in der deutschen Auslegeschrift 1 088 016 vorgeschlagen, quellbare Fasern auf Basis von z. B. Polyvinylalkohol zusammen mit nicht quellbaren Fasern zu einem Vlies zu verarbeiten, mit Wasser zu tränken und unter Druck bei erhöhter Temperatur zu trocknen. Dabei dienen die gequollenen bzw. angelösten PoIyvinylalkoholfasern als Verhaftungsmittel für die anderen Fasern.The production of non-woven or non-knitted fiber webs is known. Um diesem Nachteil abzuhelfen, wurde vorgeschlagen, die PoIyvinylalkoholfasern ganz oder teilweise zu acetalisieren oder — entsprechend den Angaben der deutschen Auslegeschrift 1 094 227 — die fertigen, Polyvinylalkoholfasern enthaltenden Vliesstoffe nach ihrer Herstellung mit wasserverträglichen, vorteilhaft sich in noch löslichem Zustand befindlichen Kunstharzen (Aldehyd- und bzw. oder Ketonkunstharze) zu imprägnieren und das imprägnierte Flächengebilde einer solchen Temperatur auszusetzen, bei der eine Weiterkondensation der Imprägnierharze stattfindet.The fabrics produced in this way, however, are not boil-proof and washable, since the polyvinyl alcohol fibers are Dissolve in hot water. B. reaktionsfähige Gruppen, wie — CN — , — COOH — oder NH2-Gruppen, enthalten.
