Abstract

Emergency release for folding doors with quick assembly system for handle sets. Flexible operating options for various folding door emergency releases in an ergonomically favorable arrangement, also for wheelchair users, with a quick fastening system that can be assembled without tools for handle and control sets with hygienically advantageous design of the connections between the edge of the support ring rosettes and the door leaf.

Description

The increasingly important barrier-free and wheelchair-accessible design of buildings also leads to a significantly higher space requirement for the walkways.

Since doors play an essential role here, folding doors are increasingly being used in addition to sliding doors to solve space problems.

With these, especially in sanitary rooms or in other cramped places, there is the risk that handicapped people fall in the room and, lying on the door, block it, so that rescue is extremely difficult.

Jamming by walkers or wheelchairs is also common. Trap doors that hit the wet rooms behind with their wings or parts of their wings therefore contradict the protection goals of DIN 18040 for good reason in Germany.

This applies in particular to trap doors ( 1 ..3), which function according to the system (⅓ - ⅔ division) listed in leaflet 560 of the International Union of Railways (UIC), since with these almost always at least part of the sheet hits the interior of the room. ( 2 )

But also with classic folding doors ( 4th ..6) (½ - ½ pitch) it can come to jamming by people falling behind it or by objects lying against it between the folding door leaves. ( 5 )

In order to enable quick help for the person who is often acutely physically and mentally impaired, folding doors should have an additional emergency release that allows the door to be opened independently of the folding normally required for actuation. ( 3rd , 6th )

It is important that the rescue can be carried out without tools, even in the event of a power failure, and by everyone present and not just by skilled craftsmen. The handling should ideally correspond to the usual opening of a toilet door, so that even untrained or handicapped people, such as wheelchair users, can rescue trapped people. According to the invention, this is achieved by a modified toilet lock that activates an emergency release in the lintel area of the door.

This has a novel attachment of the control set according to the invention, which enables the mounting of the rosettes, pawls and other control elements in one operation.

Since hygiene plays a special role in the area of barrier-free construction and maintenance, the quick-assembly rosettes according to the invention have a special shape that enables easy cleaning, reduces the accumulation of dirt and enables a particularly tight connection of the rosette to the door leaf.

STATE OF THE ART - EMERGENCY RELEASES FOR FOLDING DOORS

Some manufacturers have recognized this problem and equipped their folding elements with emergency releases.

One variant is from patent DE000004208238 known

Here the hinges between the divided door leaf are separated using an Allen key.

The problem here is the need to use a suitable tool. The upper hinge can only be easily reached with aids or by particularly tall people. It is practically impossible for a wheelchair user to open it. It is also disadvantageous that after unlocking the then loose wing part can overturn.

Out DE102004025075 an unlocking system is known in which the position of the guide element can be changed in a second running rail. If you push the guide element in the direction of the hinges so far that it is on the hinge-side wing part, the other part of the wing can be opened like a normal swing door.

Here, too, the actuation must take place at the height of the fall. The door opening remains restricted by the leaf on the hinge side.

In DE102015000676 , DE000020010918 and EP000000219589 the sash is released from the track by pulling the guide element, which is spring-mounted in the vertical axis, down and no longer sits in the track. The only disadvantage of these systems is that they need to be operated in the fall area and not at normal reach.

In the documents US000005392834 and US000005242005 a system for multi-sash window elements is described in which a second, fold-out running track is used. One construction requires the second rail to be folded up when the elements are open, so it is not suitable for emergency opening, the other system should be handled without one Locking in the lintel area should not be suitable for a door.

PRIOR ART - FASTENING OF PUSH SETS WITH SUPPORTING RING ROSETS

Handle sets are usually fastened with support ring rosettes by first screwing base plates to the door leaf and then screwing the cover rosettes onto these with return springs, limit stops, additional bearings and the like. Finally, the pawl is screwed onto the square profile that actuates the nut of the lock.

In order to accelerate these operations, there are various systems in which, after the base plate has been screwed to the door leaf, the handle and cover rosette are attached using a bayonet lock (SÜDMETALL) or with a kind of snap system (DORMA) without further screwing. However, the base plate is still screwed on conventionally.

Out DE202018107455 a design is known in which the base plate does not have to be screwed. A special element is clamped into the existing standard hole in the door for the square profile to pass through. The disadvantage here is that a special tool has to be used and that the hold against twisting essentially takes place by squeezing a very small area of the upper material of the door leaf and this is therefore exposed to high loads.

Also known is a system from Hoppe in which the handle pin is clamped in a support ring rosette and thus holds the fittings on the door leaf. A firm tightening of the rosettes on the door leaf and a reliable transmission of torques is not possible here.

DESCRIPTION OF THE EMERGENCY RELEASE SYSTEM ACCORDING TO THE INVENTION

The new development is intended to provide a flexible way of operating the emergency releases of various folding door systems, which can be used by everyone in the same way as the usual emergency releases on hinged toilet doors.

In care facilities, where quick rescue is more important than protection against unauthorized opening, the most commonly used slotted plate for unlocking with a coin or screwdriver should be replaced by an operating handle, as shown in the figures.

If the avoidance of improper opening has priority, the slotted plate is used instead of the handle.

To avoid dirt deposits at the transition between rose and door leaf, the screw rose [10] according to the invention ( 35 ) with a concave fillet in the form of a circular fillet [25] which, slightly undercut towards the door leaf and sitting tightly on the door leaf, creates a transition that is easy to clean and does not form a starting point for dirt. The same profile improves hygiene at the transition between handle and rosette 35 [ 24 ].

Instead of the round fillet, a bevel can also be used.

QUICK ASSEMBLY ROSETTE WITH HYGIENIC EDGE TRAINING

• • The quick assembly system according to the invention reduces the workload of the craftsman considerably and even enables a completely tool-free assembly of handle sets on door leaves pre-assembled for support ring rosettes.
