Description
DEUTSCHESGERMAN
It is known that especially for the rearing of young animals (calves, piglets, etc.) a considerable Amount of whole milk is considered essential. The whole milk used for feeding purposes makes according to available statistics about 10 to 12% of the entire milk production, and therefore a very considerable amount of milk fat goes into it for human consumption Consumption lost. One has - ■ apparently proceeding from this point of view - ■ already tried to To feed skimmed milk instead of whole milk, to which cheaper fats are added in appropriate quantities became. However, the attempts failed; the animals showed with such skim-milk-fat mixtures fed, not growing normally or even perished.
On the basis of our more recent findings, it must be assumed, according to the inventor's view, that the bad results of the experiments mentioned are due to the fact that the milk with the Milk fat also contains the fat-soluble vitamins that are essential for life and especially for growth (especially Vitamin A and Vitamin D) had been withdrawn, which are not contained in the added fats used are and as a result were absent. Having managed to get most of the vitamins, in particular also to obtain the fat-soluble artificially in question here, it has become possible add these to any fats that they do not contain. From this possibility makes z. B. already the German patent 663 943 use, according to which vitamins in by evaporation condensed milk produced from milk with the addition of sugar in a vacuum. The present invention, the aim of which is to provide skimmed milk, is also based on this possibility by evenly distributing an appropriate amount of vitaminized fat in it.
Vitamin A und 1000 I.E. For this purpose, according to the invention, in fats or fat mixtures, which can be brought into a permanent, finely divided form by homogenization (particle size in the same order of magnitude as homogenized milk fat - about 2 to 3 μ in diameter), the vitamins in the required quantities ( e.g. 3000 IU vitamin A and 1000 IU vitamin D 3 per liter of milk). The solution is added to the skimmed milk or whey and distributed in this by homogenization in a manner known per se. The product obtained in this way can be used in the present form or also thickened or dried in a known manner or mixed with other feed (grain meal, potato flakes, chaff or the like) and fed or dried together with these and thus made durable.

It is known to make emulsions durable by homogenization, i. E. H. for a long time in that To maintain the condition of the emulsion; in the present case, however, there is a new and surprising one Effect, namely that with this treatment the vitamins, namely the sensitive vitamin A, achieve a largely superior shelf life. After examinations in the applicant's laboratory the vitamin A content of a milk powder produced according to the process described decreased from originally 148 IU per gram after 2 months of storage only to 123 IU after 6 months to 112 I.U., during this with the addition of a commercially available vitamin preparation without the process according to the invention with an initial content of 149 I.U. after 2 months only 58 IU and after five and a half months it was 0.
Sie enthalten, nachdem die Auflösung der Vitamine vor dem Homogenisieren erfolgte, aliquote Mengen der letzteren; mit anderen Worten: Mit dem Fett bleiben auch die Vitamine in den Produkten inIt is important that fats or fat mixtures are used, which in their physical Properties, e.g. B. with regard to the melting or solidification point, which are similar to milk fat (e.g. Palm oil, oleomargarin or the like), because their ability to homogenize is related to it. The emerging Particles then do not flow back together afterwards, which leads to a rapid creaming and that would lead to segregation of the products. They contain after the dissolution of the vitamins before homogenization, aliquots of the latter; in other words: with the fat The vitamins in the products also stay in

So it exists there is also no risk of parts of the vitamins being deposited and thus escaping being used, how this can also be done.
Fettgehalt 2,5 °/o.3 g of a vitamin A preparation containing 3 million IU (corresponding to 1.8 g / Ϊ-carotene) and 1 ecm of a vitamin D 3 solution with a content of 1 million IU (= 25 mg Vitamin D 3 ) are dissolved in 25 kg of liquefied fat by heating it to about 50 to 60 ° C while stirring vigorously (if possible with the exclusion of air). The solution is thoroughly mixed with 1000 liters of skimmed milk warmed to the same temperature and the mixture - kept evenly distributed by further stirring - passed through the homogenizing machine. Fat content 2.5%.
Further treatment by drying - for example on a drum dryer with or without additives other animal feed.
If it is only a matter of adding the vitamins, a fraction of the fat is sufficient - e.g. B. 2 to 2.5 kg corresponding to a fat content of the liquid product of 0.2 to 0.25% (without own fat). Also in this In the case of the homogenization, a permanent, even, finest distribution is achieved.
Are there otherwise sufficient protein-containing feed available, so that it is on the The casein content of milk does not matter, so whey can be used instead of skimmed milk 5 find.
