Abstract

The process involves the casting of a concrete plinth (8) on a previously cast fresh concrete slab (5). The plinth is then ground down to the correct level and alignment, and chambers (6) are drilled into both it and the slab, in order to receive anchoring bolts for tensioning a supporting plate (9). Concrete filler is then poured into the chambers, and the plate is laid and adjusted, before the rails are placed and bolted using fastening devices (12). The setting of a shuttering frame (17) for the plinth, the laying and grinding of the latter, the drilling of the chambers, and the placing, adjusting and securing of the rails, can all be done by automatic or semi-automatic mobile equipment.
