Abstract

RESUMEN: La presente invención se relaciona con un método para la obtención de fibras vegetales a partir de células meristemáticas cambiales de tejido xilemático de especies vegetales. El método implica la identificación y aislamiento de las células meristemáticas cambiales de tejido xilemático, su posterior cultivo y multiplicación y la inducción de estructuras similares a fibra, para finalmente producir fibras. El proceso de la invención de manera sorprendente permite obtener fibras vegetales en condiciones de laboratorio a partir de células cambiales aisladas de tejido xilemático, brindando una alternativa a la producción de fibras a partir de plantas.
