Description
The present invention relates to a display packaging for goods, the production of which is very simple and which nevertheless presents a series of practical advantages concerning both the packaging of the goods and their presentation.
All goods are generally sold in packaging, for example in boxes, sachets or cases. It is obvious that the main function of packaging is to protect the goods during storage, transport, etc. In this sense, the packaging must present the necessary guarantees of resistance and conditioning. On the other hand, the merchandise must be shown to the customer or to the person interested in knowing its characteristics and, for this, it is necessary to extract it from its packaging. In the majority of cases, this extraction involves the need to unfold the goods and the operation of returning the goods to their initial position is often relatively complicated.
The packaging according to the invention is capable of avoiding the drawbacks described. It is characterized in that it comprises a plate on which protrude wings, the width of which determines the height of the packaging and which are extended by flaps which give the packaging the shape of a box when they are folded back on the plate, one of these flaps having a window in which the goods are intended to be threaded while being folded up, this flap being able to take a folded position in which the goods are concealed in the box, and an unfolded position in which the merchandise is suspended from the shutter window and located outside the packaging.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the packaging which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view of the unfolded package.
Figs. 2 and 3 represent, in perspective, the successive phases of folding the packaging, with the goods housed inside, and FIG. 4 is a view in longitudinal section of the closed packaging.
The packaging shown in the drawing is composed of a plate 1, for example of cardboard or similar material. From the edges of this plate protrude wings 2, the width of which determines the height of the packaging; on these wings 2 protrude folding flaps 3 which close the packaging. One of these flaps starts from a wing of lower height than the others and is provided with a window 4 of large width in which the goods 5 are threaded and conveniently folded.
The flaps 3, folded over the plate 1, complete the box shape of the packaging (fig. 4). The presence of the lower height wing makes it possible to place the merchandise 5 in its window 4 with a disposition such that this merchandise can take either a locked position inside the box, or a completely clear position of this box without having to extract it from the window to present it. To extract the merchandise from its packaging, the operation is very simple since it suffices to pull it out of window 4. Placing this merchandise in this window also presents no difficulty.
The packaging described above performs two functions. Firstly, it protects the goods when the latter is enclosed in the box and, secondly, it constitutes a display when the drilled shutter of the window 4 is pulled out and the goods remain suspended from this window. For a more summary observation of the goods, just open the box and the goods are then visible.
Despite the advantages provided by the use of the packaging, the constitution of the latter is very simple since it can be manufactured from a plate or a suitably cut blank.
The external surfaces of the box may bear the decorative motifs and appropriate indications concerning the properties and characteristics of the goods.
