Abstract
The lower section of the bottle is moulded with a lip to take the moulded flange of the upper section. when the upper is inserted into the lower section, the effect of the heated clamping system is to fold the lip over the flange to give a circular rim seal round the bottle at the point where the two section join. A bottle assembly operation is provided such that one bottle per sec. is delivered to a filling station.
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Flaschen aus Kunststoff und eine Einrichtung zur Durchführung dieses Verfahrens. Bei der Fertigung von Kunststoff-Flaschen, welche bekanntlich nur zum einmaligen Gebrauch bestimmt sind und daher als ausgesprochener Massenartikel anzusehen sind, kommt es wegen des enormen Bedarfs im wesentlichen darauf an, aussergewöhnlich hohe Stückzahlen in kürzester Zeit zu erzielen. Erst dann kann eine Produktion als wirtschaftlich angesehen werden, wenn ungeführ pro Sekunde eine Flasche zur Füllbereitschaft gelangt.
Es sind bereits mehrere Methoden bekannt geworden, mittels welchen versucht wurde, der gesteigerten Nachfrage von Artikeln der genannten Art gerecht zu werden. Eines der gebräuchlichsten Verfahren ist die Fertigung von Flaschen aus zwei Teilen, nämlich aus einem mit einer Einfüllöffnung versehenen Oberteil und einem dazugehörigen Füllgutaufnahmeteil oder Flaschenunterteil, wobei die beiden Flaschenteile aufeinanderliegende Randelemente aufweisen, mittels welchen die Verbindung der beiden Teile, z.B. durch Verschweissen, hergestellt wird.
Nach dem deutschen Patent 1 258 589 ist eine Schweissvorrichtung zum Verbinden von Hohlkörperhälften aus thermoplatischen Kunststoff-Folien mittels Reibungswärme bekannt geworden, mittels welcher die Herstellung von Behältern mit Öffnung, z.B. Flaschen und Dosen, bewerkstelligt wurde. Allerdings funktionierte diese Vorrichtung nur in der Weise, dass z.B. bei Flaschen und Dosen der Schweisseinrichtung in Richtung des Fertigungsablaufs ein Schneidwerkzeug, zum Abschneiden einer Kanne von den Hohlkörpern, nachgeschaltet ist.
Ferner ist nach dem schweizerischen Patent 468 282 ein Verfahren und eine Einrichtung zur Herstellung, zum Füllen und Schliessen von Flaschen aus Kunststoff, geeignet zur Einfüllung von Flüssigkeit, bekannt geworden, dessen Besonderheit darin besteht, dass zwei Teilhohlkörper, ausgebildet als Flaschenoberteil und Flaschenunterteil, je aus einer thermoplastischen Kunststoff-Folie vakuumgezogen, ausgestanzt und der Flaschenoberteil mit einer Einfüllöffnung versehen, die Teilhohlkörper beschriftet bzw. bedruckt, sodann gestapelt und darnach die beiden Teilhohlkörper an der Abfüllstation miteinander verbunden, gefüllt und verschlossen werden.
Auch diese Flasche hatte das besondere Merkmal von kongruenten Verbindungsrändern, mittels welchen der Zusammenbau der Flasche durch Verschweissen ermöglicht wurde. Die Einrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens nach diesem schweizerischen Patent ist dadurch charakterisiert, dass sich die Einrichtung aus einer Vakuumziehmaschine mit vorgeschalteten Heizaggregaten, sowie einer Stanzvorrichtung mit einem Flaschenhals-Trennorgan und einer Stapeleinrichtung zur Entnahme der Teilhohlkörper, einer Dosiereinrichtung zur sukzessiven Abgabe je eines der zusammengehörigen Teilhohlkörper, einer Verschweisseinrichtung, einer Füllstation und schliesslich einer Flaschenverschliesseinrichtung zusammensetzt.
Wie bereits eingangs angedeutet, decken derlei Einrichtungen die grosse Nachfrage von Flaschen der vorbezeichneten Art keineswegs mehr, da die Methode des Zusammenbringens von Flaschenober- und -unterteilen, wie geschildert, zu langwierig ist. Ausserdem ist z.B.
auch für das Ultraschall-Verschweissen die Apparatur, insbesondere im Hinblick auf den Einsatz von Schweissköpfen, zu aufwendig und benötigt für einen einzigen Schweissvorgang, also für eine Flasche allein mehrere Sekunden.
Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es daher, den Werdegang einer zweiteiligen Kunststoff-Flasche der eingangs genannten Art so zu beschleunigen, dass mit einer Kapazität grösster Stückzahlen gerechnet werden kann.
Die Erfindung löst dieses Problem durch ein Verfahren, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass die beiden aufeinandergebrachten Flaschen oberteile und Flaschenunterteile vor Erreichung der Füllbereitschaft zusammengebördelt werden. Dabei erfolgt das haltbare Zusammenbringen der Flaschenteile zweckmässig durch zukzessives Anbördeln, Randbördeln und Endbördeln.
Nach diesem Verfahren kann die fertige Flasche nach dem Endbördeln einem nachgeschalteten Aggregat zur Dichtigkeitsprüfung zugeführt werden.
Die erfindungsgemässe Einrichtung zur Durchführung dieses Verfahrens ist gekennzeichnet durch eine Bördeleinrichtung, welche sich aus einem Zentrierring zur Aufnahme des Flaschenunterteils zu dessen festem Halt und aus einem Bördelring zusammensetzt, welcher die beiden aufeinanderliegenden Randelemente der Flaschenteile fest miteinander verbördelt.
Einzelheiten der Erfindung sind anhand eines bevorzugten Ausführungsbeispiels in der beigefügten Zeichnung näher erläutert. In dieser zeigen:
Fig. 1 teilweise im Schnitt die Flaschenober- und Flaschen unterteile, den Zentrierring und den Bördelring;

In der Zeichnung sind lediglich diejenigen Teile der Einrichtung und der zu fertigenden Flasche dargestellt, welche zum Verständnis der beschriebenen Erfindung unbedingt erforderlich sind. Flaschenoberteil 1 und Flaschenunterteil 2 gelangen von der Vorfertigung in die Bördeleinrichtung, welche sich aus dem Zentrierring 3, dem Bördelring 4, dieser wiederum aus dem Heizring 5 und dem Spannring 6 zusammensetzt. Das Bördelwerkzeug ist an einem Haltebügel 7 befestigt, in dessen Gewindebohrung 8 eine Kolbenstange montiert ist.
Der Zentrierring 3 weist eine Ringkante 9 auf, welche den hochgebogenen Rand 10 des Flaschenunterteils 2 untergreift.
Der Flaschenoberteil 1 weist einen horizontalen Randflansch 11 auf, um welchen der hochgebogene Rand 10 bei Betätigung des Bördelwerkzeuges festgebördelt wird (Fig. 2).
Mit 12 ist die fertige, leere Flasche bezeichnet, welche einer Teststation und gebenenfalls von hier aus einer Füllstation zugeführt wird. Die Bördeleinrichtung kann als Mehrfach-Bördelgerät ausgebildet sein, mittels welchem mit dem gleichen Arbeitstakt mehrere Flaschen ge bördelt werden können.
PATENTANSPRUCH I
Verfahren zur Herstellung von zweiteiligen, aus einem Flaschenober- und einem Flaschenunterteil bestehenden Flaschen aus Kunststoff, deren Teile jeweils mit Randelementen versehen sind, geeignet zum Einfüllen von Flüssigkeit, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die beiden aufeinandergebrachten Flaschenoberteile (1) und Flaschenunterteile (2) vor Erreichung der Füllbereitschaft zusammengebördelt werden.

The invention relates to a method for producing bottles made of plastic and a device for carrying out this method. In the manufacture of plastic bottles, which are known to be intended only for single use and are therefore to be regarded as extremely mass-produced items, because of the enormous demand, it is essentially a matter of achieving exceptionally high quantities in the shortest possible time. Production can only be regarded as economical when one bottle is ready to be filled approximately every second.
Several methods have already become known by means of which attempts have been made to meet the increased demand for articles of the type mentioned. One of the most common methods is the manufacture of bottles from two parts, namely from an upper part provided with a filling opening and an associated filling material receiving part or bottle lower part, the two bottle parts having edge elements lying on top of one another, by means of which the connection of the two parts, e.g. by welding.
According to the German patent 1 258 589 a welding device for joining hollow body halves made of thermoplastic plastic films by means of frictional heat is known, by means of which the production of containers with openings, e.g. Bottles and cans. However, this device only worked in such a way that e.g. in the case of bottles and cans, the welding device is followed by a cutting tool for cutting off a can from the hollow bodies in the direction of the production process.
Furthermore, according to Swiss Patent 468 282, a method and a device for the production, filling and closing of bottles made of plastic, suitable for filling liquid, have become known, the specialty of which is that two partially hollow bodies, designed as the bottle top and bottle bottom, each vacuum-drawn from a thermoplastic plastic film, punched out and the top of the bottle is provided with a filling opening, the partial hollow bodies are labeled or printed, then stacked and then the two partial hollow bodies are connected to one another at the filling station, filled and sealed.
This bottle also had the special feature of congruent connecting edges, by means of which the assembly of the bottle was made possible by welding. The device for carrying out the method according to this Swiss patent is characterized in that the device consists of a vacuum drawing machine with upstream heating units, as well as a punching device with a bottle neck separator and a stacking device for removing the partially hollow bodies, a metering device for successively dispensing one of the associated Partial hollow body, a welding device, a filling station and finally a bottle closure device.
As already indicated at the beginning, such devices no longer meet the great demand for bottles of the aforementioned type, since the method of bringing together the upper and lower parts of the bottle, as described, is too tedious. In addition, e.g.
The apparatus is also too expensive for ultrasonic welding, especially with regard to the use of welding heads, and takes several seconds for a single welding process, that is for a bottle alone.
The object of the invention is therefore to accelerate the development of a two-part plastic bottle of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that a capacity of the largest number of items can be expected.
The invention solves this problem by a method which is characterized in that the two bottle tops and bottle bottoms that are placed on top of one another are flanged together before they are ready to be filled. The durable bringing together of the bottle parts is expediently carried out by incremental flanging, edge flanging and end flanging.
According to this process, the finished bottle can be fed to a downstream unit for leak testing after the end crimping.
The device according to the invention for carrying out this method is characterized by a crimping device, which is composed of a centering ring for receiving the bottom part of the bottle to hold it firmly and a crimping ring which crimps the two superposed edge elements of the bottle parts firmly together.
Details of the invention are explained in more detail with reference to a preferred embodiment in the accompanying drawing. In this show:

In the drawing, only those parts of the device and the bottle to be manufactured are shown which are absolutely necessary for understanding the invention described. The upper part of the bottle 1 and the lower part of the bottle 2 pass from the prefabrication into the crimping device, which is composed of the centering ring 3, the crimping ring 4, which in turn consists of the heating ring 5 and the clamping ring 6. The crimping tool is attached to a retaining bracket 7, in whose threaded bore 8 a piston rod is mounted.
The centering ring 3 has an annular edge 9 which engages below the bent-up edge 10 of the bottle base 2.
The bottle top 1 has a horizontal edge flange 11, around which the bent-up edge 10 is crimped when the crimping tool is operated (FIG. 2).
The finished, empty bottle is designated by 12 and is fed to a test station and, if necessary, from here to a filling station. The crimping device can be designed as a multiple crimping device, by means of which several bottles can be crimped ge with the same work cycle.

Process for the production of two-part bottles made of plastic, consisting of a bottle top and a bottle bottom, the parts of which are each provided with edge elements, suitable for filling in liquid, characterized in that the two bottle tops (1) and bottle bottoms (2) placed one on top of the other before reaching the readiness for filling are flanged together.
