Abstract

MÉTODO PARA PRODUZIR UM PRODUTO BASEADO EM FERMENTAÇÃO E MÉTODO PARA PRODUZIR ETANOL. Um método para produzir um produto baseado em fermentação, tal como etanol, compreende fermentar um meio contendo açúcar com levedura na presença de um monoaldeído ou dialdeído alifático ou aromático, um composto que libera formaldeído, ou uma combinação dos mesmos, numa quantidade suficiente para reduzir ou controlar uma população bacteriana no meio contendo açúcar. Para este propósito, o aditivo pode permitir redução ou eliminação de antibióticos, mostrando ao mesmo tempo reduções em porcentagem de infecção, variabilidade de processo e interferência com viabilidade de levedura.
