A presente invenção também se refere à construção de um gene quimérico que codifique a proteína eIF-4E, no todo ou em parte, em orientação de sentido favorável ou contrário, em que a expressão do gene quimérico resulte na produção de níveis alterados da proteína eIF-4E em uma célula hospedeira transformada."FRAGMENT OF ISOLATED NUCLEIC ACID, CHEMICAL GENE, TRANSFORMED HOST CELL, ~ E ~ IF-4E POLYPEPTIDE, METHOD OF CHANGING THE LEVEL OF EXPRESSION OF A ~ E ~ IF-4E PROTEIN IN AN ETHNIC STONE, NUCLEIC ACID ENCODING ALL OR A SUBSTANTIAL PART OF THE AMINO ACID SEQUENCE ENCODING AN ~ AND ~ IF PROTEIN AND PRODUCT "The present invention relates to an isolated nucleic acid fragment encoding an eIF-4E protein. The present invention also relates to the construction of a chimeric gene encoding the eIF-4E protein, in whole or in part, in a favorable or opposite direction, in which the expression of the chimeric gene results in the production of altered levels of the eIF protein -4E in a transformed host cell.
