Abstract
Patente de Invenção <B>"SISTEMA E PROCESSO DE CONVERSãO CATALìTICA"<D>. Um reator (1) e um processo para a produção de compostos de oxirano por reação de uma olefina, tal como propileno, com um hidroperóxido orgânico, usando um catalisador de contato sólido, caracterizados pelas seguintes características: (1) o reator (1) é dividido em uma série de zonas separadas, cada zona contendo um leito de catalisador de epoxidação sólido (2, 3, 4, 5, 6); (2) são mantidas condições de modo a proporcionar a fase líquida sem formação de vapor substancial por todo o reator; (3) proporciona-se alimentação do reator fria (7), que é preaquecida à temperatura de reação por troca de calor indireta separada com líquido de reação das várias zonas do reator separadas; (4) o líquido de reação (38) da última da série de zonas reacionais é reduzido em pressão, para formar uma mistura gás-líquido a uma temperatura mais baixa e esta mistura gás-líquido é aquecida por troca térmica indireta com o líquido de reação de pelo menos uma das zonas reacionais separadas.
