Abstract
Patente de Invenção: PROCESSO MECANO-QUìMICO PARA O TRATAMENTO DE MATERIAL TóXICO. Um processo para o tratamento de materiais tóxicos, por exemplo, compostos inorgânicos, compostos orgânicos halogenados como bifenilas policloradas (PCBs) dioxina e dicloro-difenil-tricloro-etano (DDT) e armas químicas como Sarim e mostarda. O processo se baseia na descoberta de que ativação mecânica pode induzir a reações químicas que rompem a estrutura molecular dos materiais tóxicos e formam produtos que são compostos não tóxicos simples. O processo envolve a sujeição da mistura de um material tóxico e um reagente adequado, à ativação mecânica para produzir um produto ou produtos finais não tóxicos. A ativação mecânica é tipicamente realizada em um moinho mecânico, por exemplo, um moinho de esferas. Moagem com esferas de vários materiais tóxicos com reagentes apropriados que, como constatado, resulta em virtual destruição total da matéria prima tóxica.
