Abstract
"MUTANTES TERMO - ESTáVEIS DE ENZIMAS DE BIOSSìNTESE DE AMIDO". A presente invenção refere-se a novas moléculas de polinucleotídeos mutantes que codificam enzimas que têm aumentada estabilidade térmica. Estes polinucleotídeos, quando expressos em plantas, resultam em aumentado rendimento em plantas crescidas sob condições de tensão térmica. Em uma modalidade, as moléculas de polinucleotídeos da presente invenção codificam ADP glicose pirofosforilase de endosperma de milho (AGP) e atividade de enzima sintase de milho solúvel (SSS). Plantas e tecido de planta gerados para conter, ou transformados com, os polinucleotídeos mutantes, e expressando os polipeptídeos codificados pelos polinucleotídeos, também são contemplados pela presente invenção. A presente invenção também refere-se a métodos para isolamento de polinucleotídeos e polipeptídeos contemplados dentro do escopo da invenção. Métodos para aumento de rendimento em plantas crescidas sob condições de tensão térmica também são providos.
