  Verfahren zur Herstellung von Sohlen-und dgl. Leder. 



   Gegenstand des Stammpatentes Nr. 78988 ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Sohlen-und dgl. Leder, welches darin besteht, dass mineralisch insbesondere chromgegerbtes Leder einem   Äscherungsverfahren   bzw. einer Behandlung mit Kalk unterworfen wird. Die vorliegende Erfindung beruht auf der Feststellung, dass der Charakter des derart behandelten Leders dadurch dem Charakter des vegetabilisch gegerbten Sohlen-oder dgl. Leders nahe gebracht werden kann, wenn die mineralische Gerbung z. B. die Chromgerbung mit   vege-   tabilischer Gerbung kombiniert wird Bei Ausführung des Verfahrens ist es zweckmässig, das chromgegerbte bzw. das mineralisch gegerbte Leder zuerst vegetabilisch nachzugeben und hierauf der Behandlung mit Kalkmilch oder dgl. zu unterwerfen.

   Durch die vegetabilische   Nachgerbung   wird der Charakter des Leders für dessen Verwendung als Sohlenleder vorteilhaft verändert und die ungünstigen Eigenschaften des chromgegerbten Leders, welche dessen Eignung als Sohlenleder verhindern, werden durch die Kalkbehandlung des Stammpatentes vermieden. Es genügt ein vegetabilischer Gerbprozess von kurzer Dauer, zweck- mässig ungefähr von zwei bis drei Tagen, und zweckmässig ohne jede Forcierung, um dem Charakter des Sohlenleders nahezukommen. Ein derart gegerbtes und einem   Äscherungs-   prozesse unterworfenes Leder ist dem vegetabilisch gegerbten Leder überlegen.

1. Ausführungsform des Verfahrens gemäss Stammpatent Nr. 78988, dadurch   gekenn-   zeichnet, dass dem   Äscherungsverfahren   ein kombiniert mineralisch und vegetabilisch ge- gerbtes Leder unterworfen wird.

   The subject of the parent patent no. 78988 is a process for the production of sole leather and the like, which consists in subjecting leather, in particular chrome-tanned leather, to a liming process or a treatment with lime. The present invention is based on the finding that the character of the leather treated in this way can thereby be brought close to the character of the vegetable-tanned sole or the like leather if the mineral tanning is carried out e.g. B.    Through the vegetable retanning, the character of the leather is advantageously changed for its use as sole leather and the unfavorable properties of the chrome-tanned leather, which prevent its suitability as sole leather, are avoided by the lime treatment of the parent patent. A vegetable tanning process of a short duration is sufficient, expediently for about two to three days, and expediently without any forcing, in order to come close to the character of the sole leather. Leather tanned in this way and subjected to a liming process is superior to vegetable tanned leather.
