Abstract
En la presente se proporciona un sistema, aparato y método para la fundición continua de metal, y más particularmente, un mecanismo para controlar la forma de un molde de fundición en coquilla directa para controlar dinámicamente un perfil de un lingote fundido a partir del molde durante el proceso de fundición. Las formas de realización pueden proporcionar un aparato para fundir material, que incluyen: paredes laterales opuestas primera y segunda; paredes extremas primera y segunda que se extienden entre las paredes laterales primera y segunda, donde las paredes laterales opuestas primera y segunda y las paredes extremas opuestas primera y segunda forman una cavidad de molde con una forma generalmente rectangular. Por lo menos una de las paredes laterales opuestas primera y segunda puede incluir dos o más regiones de contacto, en donde cada una de las dos o más regiones de contacto puede configurarse para desplazarse con respecto a una línea recta a lo largo de la pared lateral.
