Abstract
Se proporcionan composiciones y métodos para usar genes inhibidores del polen y/o genes marcadores de color en la introgresión acelerada de rasgos. Se proporcionan, además, composiciones y métodos para introducir un gen inhibidor de polen y/o un gen marcador de color cercano a un locus de rasgo de interés; Además, se describen métodos de mejoramiento genético así como métodos para seleccionar plantas que comprenden un locus de rasgo de interés cercano al menos a un gen inhibidor de polen y/o a un gen marcador de color. Los métodos y composiciones usan al menos un gen inhibidor de polen y/o un gen marcador de color para proporcionar un sistema efectivo para realizar la introgresión de rasgo acelerada en el genoma de una planta. Reivindicación 1: Un método para introducir un gen inhibidor de polen cercano a un locus de rasgo de interés en el genoma de una planta progenie; el método comprende: (a) proporcionar una primera planta que tiene una ventana genómica de al menos un gen de rasgo de interés integrado a un primer sitio objetivo ubicado próximo a un telómero, en donde la ventana genómica es de aproximadamente 10 cM de longitud, en donde la primera planta no comprende un gen inhibidor de polen; (b) mejorar genéticamente una primera planta con una segunda planta, en donde la segunda planta comprende en la ventana genómica un gen inhibidor de polen integrado en un segundo sitio objetivo ubicado próximo al telómero y al gen de rasgo de interés de (a); y (c) seleccionar una planta progenie de la etapa (b) que comprende el gen de rasgo de interés y el gen inhibidor de polen, en donde el gen de rasgo de interés y el gen inhibidor de polen están genéticamente unidos.
