Abstract

Se proporcionan polinucleotidos, composiciones y métodos para aumento de la expresion y/o acumulacion de una enzima celobiohidrolasa en las vacuolas de las células vegetales. El método implica direccionamiento de la enzima a las vacuolas, por el uso de un péptido senal de distribucion a las vacuolas de poliamina-oxidasa de cebada (BpAO). Las plantas transformadas con un constructo de expresion que codifica el péptido senal de distribucion a las vacuolas enlazado operativamente a la enzima celobiohidrolasa dirigen la expresion del polipéptido a las vacuolas de las células vegetales. Se proporcionan plantas, semillas, y tejidos de plantas transgénicas, así como partes de plantas. Los usos de las plantas transgénicas o material vegetal que expresa los constructos incluyen usos agronomicos e industriales, por ejemplo, alimentacion humana, piensos para animales, biocombustible, alcohol industrial, alimentaciones para fermentacion, y análogos.
