Abstract

Una instalacion que Comprende sistemas integrados para la extraccion, y opcionalmente mejoramiento y/o refinado, de fuentes de petroleo no convencional, que usan combustibles fosiles como fuente de energía primaria. En particular, la presenteinstalacion provee un medio para gasificar uno o más combustibles fosiles de una manera eficiente, convertir estos en productos intermedios tales como calor, vapor y electricidad, que luego son usados por el sistema para obtener productoscombustibles utiles de las fuentes de petroleo no convencional tales como arenas de alquitrán y esquisto de petroleo. El diseno de los componentes de la presente instalacion está optimizado de modo que los costos globales son competitivos con unainstalacion de procesamiento de la fuente de petroleo no convencional equivalente que utiliza gas natural como fuente de energía de procesamiento. La instalacion se puede usar por sí sola, puede usar fuentes de energía de gas natural suplementariaso se puede usar en conjunto con una instalacion existente que utiliza gas natural como fuente de energía a fin de mejorar la rentabilidad del procesamiento y/o reducir el requerimiento de otras fuentes de energía, tales como gasnatural. Reivindicacion 5: un proceso para producir productos combustibles utiles a partir de una fuente de petroleo no convencional, dicho proceso que comprende los pasos de: a. gasificar una materia prima que comprende un combustible fosil paraproducir escoria, un gas de escape, calor y vapor; b. reformular el gas de escape para proveer un gas reformulado que comprende hidrogeno y monoxido de carbono; c. proveer el gas reformulado a los sistemas de conversion de gas para producirelectricidad, vapor, hidrogeno, dioxido de carbono, o petroleos livianos, o una de sus combinaciones; y d. proveer la electricidad, vapor, hidrogeno, dioxido de carbono, o petroleos livianos, o una de sus combinaciones, a un sistema de extraccionpara extraer productos combustibles crudos de la fuente de petroleo no convencional.
