Abstract

Se describen un reactor compacto y un método para usar el reactor compacto en el que el reactor compacto se arma en forma de modulos de elementos de reactor individuales interconectados entre sí. Los elementos de reactor son una seleccion de elementos de reactor rectos y elementos de reactor curvo. Los elementos e reactor pueden ser de tipo simple o pueden ser canos multiples. La ventaja del reactor compacto es que pueden lograse extensos tiempos de residencia en el reactor en el reactor usando reactores largos pero sin ocupar grandes espacios o requerir refuerzos estructurales para soportar grandes largos lineales de reactores. El reactor compacto es de fabricacion más barata y ocupa menos espacio que los reactores lineales convencionales. El reactor se usa especialmente para transesterificar aceites, grasas y productos similares para producir biodiesel o componentes de combustible de biodiesel.
