Abstract
Se describe un sistema y un método para detectar infecciones bacteriales en el tracto gastrointestinal. En una realización, el sistema incluye una primera composición separada de una segunda composición. La primera composición contiene urea en forma de polvo. La segunda composición, por otro lado, contiene un indicador. Una biopsia de una muestra gástrica primero se pone en contacto con la primera composición y después se coloca en la segunda composición. La segunda composición indica la presencia de una enzima que, a su vez, indica la presencia de la bacteria. En una realización alterna, una biopsia de una muestra gástrica se pone en contacto con una sola composición. La composición contiene urea en forma de polvo combinada con un indicador seco. Además de la urea y del indicador seco, la composición puede tener también un agente antiaglutinante. El sistema puede incluir un recipiente para contener las composiciones. En el recipiente se puede incluir una herramienta de manejo de muestra para manejar una muestra de biopsia.
