Abstract
Una molécula de ácido nucleico aislada que comprende una secuencia de nucleótidos que codifica a una toxina que es activa contra los insectos, en donde dicha secuencia de nucleótidos: (a) tiene un complemento que hibrida a los nucleótidos 1767-2364 de SEC ID NO:1 en sulfato de dodecilo sódico al 7% (SDS), NaPO4 0,5 M, EDTA 1mM a 50°C, con lavado en 0,1XSSC, SDS al 0,1% a 65°C; o (b) es isocodificante con la secuencia de nucleótidos de (a); o (c) comprende una porción de 20 pares de bases de nucleótidos consecutiva idéntica en secuencia a una porción de 20 pares de bases de nucleótidos consecutiva de una secuencia de nucleótidos de (a) o (b). También se dan a conocer: un gen quimérico, vector recombinante, célula hospedante transgénica, planta transgénica, semillas de planta transgénica, toxina purificada , composición que comprende a la toxina, método de producción de una toxina, método de producción de una planta transgénica resistente a insectos y método de control de insectos.
