Abstract
Se divulgan compuestos esteroides relacionados con andrógenos que tienen un doble enlace delta14 y llevan un sustituyente ya sea en uno o ambos de los átomos de carbono números 15 y 16. Estos esteroides satisfacen la fórmula general (1), donde: R1 es O, (H,H), (H,OR), NOR, siendo R hidrógeno, alquilo C1-6 o acilo C1-6; R2 es hidrógeno, alquilo C1-4 o alquenilo C2-4; R3 es hidrógeno, alquilo C1-4 o alquenilo C2-4; R4 es alquilo C1-2; R5 es hidrógeno, alquilo C1-4 o alquenilo C2-4; R6 y R7 son independientemente hidrógeno, alquilo C1-4 o alquenilo C2-4; R8 es hidrógeno o acilo C1-15; las líneas de puntos indican enlaces opcionales, y donde al menos uno de R5, R6 y R7 no es hidrógeno. También se divulga el uso de los esteroides; composiciones farmacéuticas que los comprenden; y un kit para la anticoncepción masculina. Estos esteroides se caracterizan porque poseen un perfil mixto de actividades androgénicas y progestagénica. Esto hace a estos compuestos adecuados para la terapia de reemplazo hormonal masculina o femenina, y también para la anticoncepción masculina.
