Abstract

Se pueden producir plantas masculinas estériles aumentando la concentracion endogena de avidina en los tejidos vegetales. Este efecto se puede lograr pormedio de la produccion de plantas transgénicas que contienen un vector de expresion en el cualha y un promotor ligado operativamente a una secuencia de ADN quecodifica avidina. Se describen métodos para restablecer la fertilidad masculina. Además, se proveen métodos para producir semillas con una o máscaracterísticas de granos de interés.
