Abstract
Metodos de la presente invencion se refieren al tratamiento de la diabetes, especialmente diabetes de tipo 2, y padecimientos relacionados mediante la administracion de un inhibidor de PDE11A. Tales inhibidores de PDE11A pueden ser administrados en combinacion con inhibidores de alfa-glucosidasa, sensibilizadores a la insulina, secretagogos de insulina, compuestos que disminuyen la produccion de glucosa hepatica, beta3 agonista o insulina. Tales inhibidores de PDE11A pueden tambien ser administrados en combinacion con agentes reductores del peso corporal. Metodos adicionales de la invencion se refieren a la estimulacion de la liberacion de la insulina de las celulas pancreaticas, especialmente respuesta a una elevacion de la concentracion de glucosa en la sangre, por administracion de un inhibidor de PDE11A.
