Abstract
Procedimiento para eliminar formiato de trialquilamonio de metilolalcanos obtenidos por condensacion de formaldehido con un aldehido superior, caracterizado porque el formiato de trialquilamonio es descompuesto a temperatura elevada en presencia de catalizadores, que contienen por lo menos un metal de los grupos 8 a 12 del sistema periodico de los elementos, en presencia de gas que contiene hidrogeno. El procedimiento permite separar tanto formiato de trialquilamonio preparado mediante el procedimiento de Canizzaro organico, como tambien metilolalcanos preparados mediante el procedimiento de hidrogenacion.
