Abstract
Están descritos los artículos absorbentes, tal como los tapones catameniales, para absorber los fluidos de el cuerpo los cuales incluyen una cantidad efectiva de una composicion de éter, amina o amida, ya sea sola o en combinacion para inhibir esencialmente la produccion de exotoxinas por la bacteria Gramo positiva. La composicion de éter tiene la formula general: R1-O-R2 en donde R1 es un grupo de alquilo recto o ramificado teniendo una cadena de 18 a 18 átomos de carbono y R2 es seleccionado de un alcohol, de una sal de sulfato polialcoxilatada y una sal de sulfosuccinato polialcoxilatada. El compuesto de amina tiene la formula general (a) en donde R3 es un grupo de alquilo teniendo de desde alrededor de 8 a alrededor de 18 átomos de carbono; y R4 y R5 pueden ser los mismos o diferentes y son seleccionados de hidrogeno y un grupo de alquilo teniendo de desde 1 a alrededor de 18 átomos de carbono y el cual puede tener una o más mitades sutituyentes seleccionadas dehidroxilo, carboxilo y sales de carboxilo e imidazolina. El compuesto de amida tiene la formula general (b) en donde R7 es un grupo de alquilo teniendo de 8 18 átomos de carbono, inclusive de el carbon carbonilo y R8 y R9 pueden ser los mismos o diferentes, R8 y R9 son seleccionados de hidrogeno, un grupo de alquilo teniendo de 1 a alrededor de 12 átomos de carbono y puede contener uno o más grupos sustituyentes seleccionados de éster, éter, amina, hidroxilo, carboxilo, sales de carboxilo, sulfonato, sales de sulfonato y combinaciones de los mismos. También se describe un método para inhibir la produccion de exoproteína de bacteria gramo positiva.
