Abstract
Materiales mixtos formados como esteras con porosidades sobre 60% y densidades debajo de 0.6 g/cm3 contienen un aerogel y fibras distribuidas en el mismo; los materiales mixtos están caracterizados porque el aerogel tiene grietas y porque los fragmentos de aerogel encerrados por las grietas, con un volumen promedio de 0.001 mm3 a 1 cm3, se mantienen juntos mediante las fibras; también se describe un procedimiento para producir dichos materiales mixtos y su uso.
