Abstract

Los catalizadores complejos de cianuro dimetálico (DMC) altamente activos los cuales, a diferencia de otros catalizadores de DMC altamente activos, son substancialmente cristalinos, comprenden un compuesto de DMC, un agente de acoplamiento orgánico, y una sal metálica, en donde el catalizador contiene menos de aproximadamente 0.2 moles de la sal metálica por mol de compuesto de DMC. Los catalizadores pueden formarse mediante la reaccion de soluciones acuosas de una sal metálica y una sal de cianuro metálico en la presencia de un agente de acomplejamiento orgánico, en donde la sal metálica se utiliza en una cantidad excesiva de menos de 100% de exceso estequiométrico en relacion a la cantidad de sal de cianuro metálico. De manera alternativa, la solucion acuosa puede hacerse reaccionar con la sal metálica en exceso para formar un precipitado de catalizador y después se enjuaga el precipitado con agua y el agente de acomplejamiento para producir el producto de catalizador. Los polioles de poliéster elaborados a partir de los catalizadores tienen baja insaturacion y son utiles para elaborar muchos tipos de productos de poliuretano.
