Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a látex de polímero acuosos de un copolímero formador de película que pueden obtenerse mediante la polimerización de emulsiones acuosas de monómeros M etilénicamente insaturados, que comprenden i. de 5 a 70% en peso, en particular, de 10 a 60% en peso, en función de la cantidad total de monómeros M, de al menos un monómero M1, que se selecciona de acrilato de ciclopentilo, metacrilato de ciclopentilo y mezclas de estos; ii. de 20 a 90% en peso, en particular, de 30 a 80% en peso, en función de la cantidad total de monómeros M, de al menos un monómero M2, que se selecciona de C2-C20-alquilésteres de ácido acrílico, con excepción de acrilato de ter-butilo y C5-C20-alquilésteres de ácido metacrílico y mezclas de estos; iii. de 0 a 40% en peso, en particular, de 0 a 35% en peso, en función de la cantidad total de monómeros M, de uno o más monómeros M3, que se selecciona de acrilato de ter-butilo, C1-C4 alquilésteres de ácido metacrílico, metacrilato de ciclohexilo, metacrilato de isobornilo y monómeros monovinílicos aromáticos y mezclas de estos; donde la cantidad total de monómeros M1 y M3 está en el rango de 5 a 70% en peso, en particular, al menos de 10 a 60% en peso, en función de la cantidad total de monómeros M etilénicamente insaturados, y donde la cantidad total de monómeros M1, M2 y M3 es de al menos 85% en peso, en función de la cantidad total de monómeros M etilénicamente insaturados. La presente invención también se refiere a un proceso para producir los látex de polímero acuosos de la presente invención. El proceso comprende realizar una polimerización en emulsión acuosa de los monómeros M. La presente invención también se refiere al uso de estos látex de polímero como aglutinantes en composiciones de recubrimiento a base de agua.
