Abstract

Un proceso para preparar un látex polimérico acuoso polimerizando, opcionalmente en presencia de un látex semilla, una composición de monómero que contiene (met)acrilato de solketal por polimerización radical en emulsión en un medio de polimerización acuoso en presencia de un iniciador de polimerización radical de reacción ácida, en donde la composición de monómero comprende a) 0.1 a 100% en peso de (met)acrilato de solkatel, b) 0 a 99.9% en peso de uno o más monómeros etilénicamente insaturados adicionales, caracterizado porque se mantiene un pH esencialmente neutro en el intervalo de 6 a 8 en el medio de polimerización acuoso durante la polimerización de emulsión radical mediante la presencia de un compuesto básico.
