Abstract

Esta divulgación proporciona sistemas y métodos para la producción directa de hidróxido de litio mediante el uso de membranas selectivas de cationes, selectivas monovalentes o preferiblemente selectivas de litio. Las membranas selectivas de litio poseen una alta selectividad de litio sobre iones multivalentes y otros iones monovalentes y, por lo tanto, evitan la precipitación de magnesio durante la electrodiálisis (ED) y también abordan la presencia de sodio en la mayoría de los procesos de producción de litio a base de minerales o salmuera natural.
