Abstract

La presente invención está dirigida a un proceso, para convertir alquilenureas cíclicas en sus alquilenaminas correspondientes en donde una materia prima que comprende alquilenureas cíclicas se hace reaccionar en la fase líquida con agua en una cantidad de 0.1 a 20 moles de agua por mol de la porción de urea, a una temperatura de por lo menos 230°C, con eliminación de CO2. Se ha encontrado que el proceso de acuerdo con la invención permite la conversión eficiente de alquilenureas en las alquilenaminas correspondientes. El proceso tiene un alto rendimiento y baja producción de productos secundarios. Se prefiere que la alquilenurea cíclica comprenda uno o más de EU (etilenurea, el derivado de urea de etilendiamina (EDA)), UDETA (el derivado de urea de dietilentriamina (DETA)), UTETA (el grupo de derivados de urea de trietilentetramina (TETA), DUTETA (el derivado de diurea de trietilentetramina), UTEPAs (los derivados de urea de tetraetilenpentamina (TEPA)), DUTEPAs (los derivados de diurea de TEPA), o los derivados de urea de pentaetilenhexamina (PEHA) y análogos superiores, UAEEA (el derivado de urea de aminoetiletanolamina), HE-UDETA (el derivado de urea de hidroxietil dietilentriamina), HE-UTETA (el derivado de urea de hidroxietil trietilentetramina, HE-DUTETA (el derivado de diurea de hidroxietil trietilentetramina) o cualquier mezcla de estos.
